SparkleJet is the tried and true, all-American rock band.
Born in the unlikely agricultural hub of Central California, the Fresno-based group holds true to its rock n roll roots, playing music the way it should be played: 100 percent pretension free.
SparkleJet has settled into a stripped-down, power-trio lineup where they find themselves at the height of their ability to convey uncompromising power and urgency. The band bounces effortlessly across the rock landscape, drawing from the likes of past and current heroes including The Replacements, Pixies, Hüsker Dü, The Kinks, Guided By Voices, The Police, Foo Fighters, Devo, Led Zeppelin, and The Who.
Speaking of Townshend and the boys, SparkleJet performed its own rendition of The Who's 'Tommy' back in 2002.
SparkleJets 11-track album, Beyond the Beyond, has been released on Los Angeles-based Long Live Crime Records. Two of the trios earlier releases 1998s This Years Model & 2001s Bar Guest will be distributed through the indie label this spring. For their new album 'Beyond the Beyond', SparkleJet strayed from the usual Fresno recording studios. Instead, the band decided to work with Steve Albini (Pixies, Nirvana, PJ Harvey) at his Electrical Audio studio in Chicago.
SparkleJet has toured throughout the Northwest, having shared the stage with bands like Kaito, Silversun Pickups, Earlimart, the Mother Hips, Radar Bros., Pine Martin, the High Speed Scene and more. The trio has been featured in Billboard magazine's Best New Artist spotlight, and their music has been used on ESPNs Extreme Games.
They have not taken a contrived, anti-social punk rock stance or infused their music with any such self-defeating message. Simply put, they don't try to be anything except who they are by nature. No trendy clothes, no fancy haircuts, just rock.

Dear Friend,
I posted my clip, Neurofibro, to my myspace page yesterday and I hope you will take a moment to watch. It talks about the genetic, childhood disease, neurofibromatosis, which I have and which has left me paralyzed for 10 years now.
For those of us, who are sick, it is vital to mobilize for a cure. Please, watch my clip and, if you would like to help, please send it on to your friends. With this clip our voice will be heard, and more people, and the media, will learn about this tragic disease. By spreading the word we will have achieved something great, a better chance at finding the cure we so desperately desire.
Stan already commented about last Friday's show below..but I just have to add: DANG!! (only a few days late). There's so much that is RIGHT about you guys. Songs, sound, synergy, singing. Why aren't you national? Bass sounded great too. Not sure what happened to your past bass players, but I hope Mr. Eckes hangs on for a while. Its a good fit. Thanks again for closing the night out right. - Tom
