Influences
All music. How can you trim that list down. Everything that has entered our ears makes us what we are today. For Sam, however, it's only the Beatles and Toad the Wet Sprocket.
Sounds Like
It depends what night. Sometimes it sounds like X. Sometimes it's pretty, sometimes it's not.
Been playing forever. Blah, blah, blah. Ended up together and it rocks. Our songs are mostly testimonials of sadness, heartbreak, fear, loneliness, isolation, discomfort and pain. But we make 'em fun!
Our live shows are where we shine. The alcohol helps. We have honed the fine art of the heckle and enjoy messing with an audience. Sometimes we hit a place that's really special and great musically, other times it feels like the first time. That's the beauty of being a band and not some manufactured, talentless hack. It's always an adventure
None of us are masters of our craft, but the sounds and approach work together. Again, an important aspect of a band. It's chemistry, not skill that makes a band fun or great. We have heart.
We're not searching for a record deal (if there is such a thing anymore). This is therapy. Every time we play, there's a face in the crowd that is understanding that. It means the same to them. That's the biggest payday ever.
April 3rd Thru April 9th, we are up against six other bands from around the country (so we have a one in seven chance of winning this thing).
You can vote as many times as you like, every day as long as you vote for Four Star Riot (while that all seems pretty silly, its the way they are running the contest, so we are playing along). Assuming everyone else will be doing multiple voting, we hope you guys will vote for us a bunch of times, every day this week, from every computer you have access to...and tell all your friends to do the same.
