Hey, we're Sparrow and the Workshop and we're a Scottish/Welsh/American 3-piece from Glasgow. We started banging out tunes around January 2008 when we all found ourselves living together in a tenement flat near the Mitchell Library. At first we played in front of the fireplace but now we play pretty much anywhere we're invited...We have been lucky enough to play in a variety of locations including a shipping container, an old church, an open-air theater and the highest public house in England. We hope you enjoy the songs we've put up here.
NEWS: Jill lost miserably in the 2009 Women's World Stone-Skimming Championships. Nick and Gregor fared no better in the men's competition...oh the pain.
MORE RECENT NEWS: We convinced Tom Robinson to squeeze the word 'Manboob' into his Friday night BBC 6music show (surreptitiously, of course). He's now our hero!!!

Barry Armpit and the Personification of Plates: Episode Two.
Arriving late to his cousins wedding, Barry Armpit took his seat without ceremony. So far everything had gone without a hitch. Conserving his energy for the reception, he slept through the hyms and vows like a baby in the backseat of a car. Suddenly shuckled awake by the sounds of Zorba the Greek his eyes creaked open, only to be soberly slapped by the vision of an ominous stack of plates. Knowing there was nothing he could do, he froze in helpless horror. He knew he was but a paralyzed, caged witness, forced to look on and bury the guilt from his face. He would never have believed it before but he swore the whole stack of plates took a deep breath and prepared to face their demise with the proud defiance of forgotten Cambodian doctors. He left in disgust.
