    Speeding Train Design's Interests
GeneralDrawing, scanning drawings, arsing about in Photoshop with them, chatting with my printer buddy, watching posters come out of the machine, packing posters up, delivering them in my car, selling them at gigs. All while listening to loud music and eating carrot cake and drinking tea.
MusicYes please. I have done work for: Damn You! Nottingham - www.damnyou.co.uk (of which I am a part of); Plan B Magazine, Nottingham Social, Rescue Rooms, Rock City...

I have done sleeve art for lots of bands also. Not to mention over 100 posters for the likes of: Wilco, Mudhoney, Comets On Fire, Deerhoof, Fugazi, The Evens, Arcwelder, Brick Layer Cake, Jamie T, Bic Runga, Magik Markers, Melt Banana, Rocco DeLuca, Carla Bozulich, Ali Roberts, Herman Dune, Trumans Water, Part Chimp, Todd, Erase Errata, The Locust, Charalambides, Black Dice, Arab Strap, Hot Snakes, Ted Leo, Oneida and more.

I play too and I am/have been in/part of: Lords, Wolves! (of Greece), Reynolds, Andy Clambake & The Resurrection Men, Last Of The Real Hardmen, Glenn Branca's Orchestra, Economy Of Motion, Felix, Damo Suzuki's Network, Fabulous Foxes, Econoline, The Good Anna, The Evil Hawk, The Telescopes, The Neon Set and some more too.
MoviesNo time for those! Too busy drawing and scanning and printing and driving and drinking and eating and listening to Lungfish really loud and cursing my broken mouse.
TelevisionI've never been on television. Not knowingly anyway.
BooksComplete Raymond Pettibon zines collection. James Baldwin. John Fahey.
HeroesPettibon. Jim Flora. Reid Miles. Jay Ryan. Jay Howell. Luke n Drew. Katy Brown. Graham in Leeds. Mount Pleasant crew in Manchester. Anyone anywhere who makes a gig poster that gets copied up, stuck on a wall and used to actually promote a gig. Villains: Easy! www.gigposters.com

Thanks to Chris Leo for unwittingly giving me my 'company' name.

About me:

I am a one-man graphic design company. I mainly do gig posters and record artwork. I'm open to offers though. Especially if they involve a massive fuckload of money because that's the one thing I am somewhat lacking. My name is Chris. Pleased to meet you.

I have a website:

www.honeyisfunny.com

Some of my poster work can be seen in my Pictures section.

All of my posters are here:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/sumlin/sets/72157594212951999/

I'll keep updating my profile pic with the latest thing I have done so you can see where I'm at if you're interested.

POSTERS FOR SALE

Nearly all the posters I have designed have been re-printed on nice matte, heavyweight paper and are available to buy. They are a little bigger than A3 with a white border so you can trim them to fit an A3 frame should you wish to do so. Some are even available in A4 size (printed on A3 paper with a big border). The printing process is done on a machine that cost a million pounds. I don't know how it works but it uses pure blocks of colour and lays ink down like a lithograph. It fascinates me. It also means the posters look lush.

At the moment they are £5 each, or you can buy any 3 for £12. Postage is £2.50 per tube (maximum of 3 posters before they get knackered usually) in the UK and £3.50 elsewhere. Drop me a message or an email to:

DOING WORK FOR YOU

I am cheap. Drop me a mail at the address above or send me a message and let me know what you have in mind. All the artwork in the posters you see was done by me (with the exception of the man illustration on the Part Chimp poster which was done by Jay Howell) and I am happy to do whole pieces of work or just illustrations or lettering.

So get in touch...

x
Who I'd like to meet:
People in need of some nice art and who don't want to deal with a cockhead with that weird bleached mohawk hairstyle who is wearing espadrils and is working for a company with a one-word name that has no relation to what the company does. He will also be wearing a normal suit jacket which has a word such as "CRIMINAL" screen printed on it. I probably went to University with him. "Hi, my name is Paul. Welcome to Ovary Design"

Oxjam Nottingham Music Festival

Oct 22 2006 6:59 AM

Oxjam is Oxfam's nationwide music festival and will be happening for the whole of October.

We are looking for people in Nottingham to put on music events in October to raise money for Oxfam.

Or if you have an event already planned in October; that can just be 'tagged' with the Oxjam name with money from the night being donated to Oxfam.

Would you be interested in helping to raise money for Oxfam by getting involved in Oxjam? Then just get in touch through my profile.

The event can be tiny or LARGE. It's up to you what you do.

Cheers x
