  • Music

    Music is life.

Music reflects life, and in turn life reflects music. Think about it...
For me, I love music. Not just some beats put together in your homeboy's basement, but any kind of music that you can possibly think of, in all honesty. You name it and I can more than likely get down with it, play it, have listened to it, or else I'm listening to it right this second. Like anyone else though I DO have my favorites, namely R&B and J-Pop. There is this one genre of music that I really would like to try to spread the word out there on, and it's something called Go-Go. Go-Go originated in D.C. in the 70s and it's related to R&B, Funk, and you could even argue some Rock feel. The best way that I can describe it off bat is that it's really rhythmic and percussion heavy. A really good example would be a cover of Ashlee Simpson's "Pieces of Me" done by Rare Essence (RE has been kickin since '76, ya'll!!). Ask me more about it and I'll try to share some with you........

If you need a bass player or band for anything whatsoever, that's wassup too cause I got that covered...... Hit me up here or on facebook and we can talk about some things! The absolute best way to get in touch with me is to text me - 757.303.6653 or email splinter@earthbeatz.com
NOW, last but CERTAINLY not least, I wanna give a shout out to none other than the BADDEST tuba section ever known to man,

  • Movies

One of the last movie I saw in theaters was:

    Cars.

Yo, don't laugh! For one, it was about CARS, and if you know me, I love cars.... It may have been a kid movie, but we all got a lil kid in us, right? Right... So yeah, it was funny to me, and naturally had a moral to the story. I know some folks that could use this one: STAY HUMBLE, and don't get too cocky. You'll end up out on an island all by yourself, even though you're surrounded by people. I recently saw Lakeview Terrace with Keri Washington and Samuel L. Jackson, and I thought it was a really good movie. I was a little worried to see it before because I was worried that it would suck somethin terrible, but it was actually pretty good. Go check it out if you get a chance. You know one movie that you NEED to see, like ASAP? That's Madagascar 2. THAT movie was a lot more funny than I thought it would be! Most sequels end up being REALLY really corny, but this one wasn't at all. The penguins made the movie once again, and what surprised me was Bernie Mac voiced one of the characters.... I was a little touched at the fact that it was one of his last performances, and it was a damn good one too. Next up, Soul Men. Tonight, I'll probably watch The Wiz. I've been meaning to for a while, but you know... (insert random excuse here)

  • Television

Not much, but anything good that comes on; My fav channels are The History Channel and Cartoon Network, and maybe Discovery or Sci-Fi if I can catch anything interesting. My favorite anime of the moment is BLEACH, so I catch up with that on my pc whenever I can. I finished Blood+ and Death Note not too long ago also (Both tight as hell). History was one of my favorite subjects (really any social science was.....), so I really love the History Channel. My main interest on Network TV for the past couple years has been Heroes *Big ups to NBC, even though I've missed like the whole season so far* and lately to a much lesser extent, Smallville.

Now I just wanna share something else with ya'll folks stoppin by my page. It's a video that has some of my favorite things in it - MUSIC, cartoons, and scantilly clad women with big ... Umm... HEARTS... Yeah... lol Yo, it even has a TUBA in it! How can you go wrong with THAT!? It don't get no better than this for a complete package.... All it's missing is my koolaid and McDonalds and then it'd be perfect.... Anyway, check out Cab's dance moves..... How cold is that? Ya'll be easy and lemme know what ya'll think of the video!

  • Books

"The Gig Bag Book Of" series. Any other suggestions? I'll read anything from ketchup bottles to the Encyclopedia.
  • Heroes

My momma!!! (Raising triplets and a knuckle headed boy by yourself ain't exactly an easy job!)

The Green Lantern (The Jon Stewart one, all the other ones suck)

January 20, 2009.
This day will go down forever in the history of our nation as we hold the inauguration of our first President with African heritage. I'm very excited about not only being able to witness this once in a lifetime event, but the fact that I have been given the privilege to be a part of these ceremonies. I will be marching with the Hampton University Marching F.O.R.C.E. in Mr. Obama's inauguration parade. Check out this article from the Virginian Pilot detailing our preparations to head to Washington, DC to honor Mr. Obama.
My own words:
What's the good word folks? So, you wanna know a little bit about me, huh? Well I'm really just a laid back country boy "livin just enough for the city" (Hampton, VA for the moment), serious musician by nature, hermit and fact hungry nerd at heart. I would love to do my music full time and until recently had been taking steps with the band Brothas Keeper (Hampton) and focusing my attention on making my dream come to fruition. At the present, I'm just enjoying my time and using it to look for the next big thing. Well, that's my "exciting" life in a nutshell so if there's anything else you wanna know about me, feel free to ask. You good folks be easy and I hope you enjoy the page.

SIDE NOTE to my readers:
If you're ever gonna do something in life, make sure that you think it through. If you don't, you could really end up missing out on the VERY BEST things in store for you in this life, and the next person will get what was truly meant to be your blessing.... I hope this helps someone take a second to think about that, because I for one didn't and now I have forever to think about it. One second is all it takes to change forever. Ya'll be easy. And think about it....

Who I'd like to meet:

Victor Wooten (one of the nastiest bass players alive), Bobby Labonte (driver of the #96 Ask.com Ford *formerly the #18 Interstate Batteries Chevy with Joe Gibbs Racing* in the Nextel Cup Series), any of the Washington Redskins, and anyone who loves and appreciates music as much as I do.
