We need everyone to help spread the word and excitement as we launch our National Tour! If you live in any of the cities/states we are hitting in the first year of our tour and would like to be part of our national street team, we need your help! Street Teamers must be over 18 or else accompanied by an adult (should we say this, or leave it up to the individual presenting orgs)?
Street Team activities may include handing out flyers and buttons, spreading the word via the internet, hanging posters, etc. You can do as little or as much as you'd like. In exchange, you may have the opportunity to earn merchandise, attend dress rehearsals, performances (subject to availability), and/or exclusive events with the cast.
Each theater will market the show in their own way--the work needed as well as the rewards given will differ from city to city. You might not be contacted until the show nears your city, and some cities may elect not to coordinate a street team at all.
If you would like to be involved with the show, please:
1. Send an email from your primary email address to
NationalGuiltyOnes@gmail.com
(If you are in San Diego, please send your email directly to: GuiltyOnes@BroadwaySD.com)
2. Include your tour city in the subject heading (San Diego, LA, Boston, etc).
3. Include your full name, age, and the best phone number to reach you (we will not share your information with third parties).
4. Optional: Include any pertinent information you think we should know such as conflicts, relevant experience, if you're interested in helping a little or a lot, or what you would like to get out of it.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN STREET TEAM?
*Meet and hang out with other cool local Guilty Ones.
*Share your enthusiasm with others.
*Be directly involved with the show and its success in your city.
*Earn rewards you can't find anywhere else.
*Sales and marketing experience.
*Have fun!
We are looking for volunteers in or near these cities: San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, Tempe, Tampa, Houston, Des Moines, Minneapolis, St. Louis, East Lansing, Cleveland, Toronto, Providence. Pittsburgh, Louisville, Baltimore, Philadelphia, DC, Chicago.

FAQ's
1) HOW DO I AUDITION FOR THIS SHOW? We have had extensive open calls throughout the country. We will post any additional open calls in our blogs or through Myspace bulletins. Friend us if you havn't already to keep informed. In the meantime, we've made it easy for you to submit yourself singing a folk/alternative rock song on video. All videos will be seen, although people the casting directors are interested in seeing may not be contacted for a callback for months, especially since our national tour, and London production are now cast. We are, however, always looking for future replacements. Go to: http://www.springawakening.com/videoauditionsubmission/ Make sure your submission is less than 500 MB. Your screen should change and you should get a confirmation that says your submission has been received. Alternatively, you can also snail mail your DVD to: JIM CARNAHAN, SPRING AWAKENING c/o Roundabout Theatre Co 231 W 39th Street Suite 1200 New York, N.Y. 10018.
2) HOW CAN I SEND FAN MAIL TO THE CAST?You can write to the cast c/o the theatre: *Actor's Name*, c/o Eugene O'Neil Theatre, 230 W. 49th St. NY, NY 10019. The cast is extremely busy and we cannot guarantee a response, but they are usually pretty good about responding, especially when a self addressed stamped envelope is provided. Suspicious packages and articles of food sent through the mail may not be delivered to the intended recipient. We cannot honor requests for Playbills etc to be signed and mailed back.
3) HOW DO I BUY ONSTAGE SEATS? On stage seats go fast because they are cheaper than orchestra seats and because it offers a completely different experience. Currently, they are sold out until the end of December. We will announce on the upcoming calendar section when on stage seats for January go on sale to the general public. The best way to ensure you score on-stage seats is to sign up for our fansite http://fanclub.springawakening.com. Members of the fansite will be given priority access to a number of onstage seats 48 hours before they go on sale to the general public. You will also get an email notification when tickets become available, but act fast! If you havn't seen the show yet, we recommend you see it from the house the first time. You get a lot of people's backs when you sit onstage.
4) HOW LONG WILL (enter Actor's name here) BE IN THE SHOW? WILL THERE BE ANY UNDERSTUDIES PERFORMING ON (enter date here)? We will never announce this information ahead of time except through official press releases in the event of a major cast change. Please don't ask me. You might get more information from fans on our forums who have talked with the actors at the stage door, such as the Journal section of the fansite or Guiltyones.org.
5) WHEN IS THE NATIONAL TOUR? Our North American tour will kick off September 8th, 2008 at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco after a pre-tour period in San Diego. Cities for the first year are listed in the Myspace calendar. Click on your city to get website info for the theatre closest to you. Dates that tickets go on sale will also be listed on the calendar as soon as I get them. It's not too late to urge your local theatre to bring us to your hometown in the second year of the tour! They need to know there is demand. Email them! You can let them know the tour is being organized by On The Road Booking, the same company responsible for the tours of Movin' Out, Hairspray, and The Producers. http://www.ontheroadbooking.com/index.php We have licensed the property to any other countries including Spain, Tel Aviv, Israel, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Japan, Korea and Sydney, Australia. 11) WHAT'S A 'PURPLE SUMMER?" The song is meant to be poetic and not literal, therefore it is open to interpretation, but in general terms, this song is about hope and renewal, about the cycle of life, and about moving forward by learning from past mistakes. The innocence and exuberance of Spring (youth) moving into bruised but wiser Summer (adulthood). Purple Summer is also a type of flower.
12) WHERE ELSE CAN I GO TO GET MY SPRING AWAKENING FIX? Aside from this page, you can also visit our official sister FACEBOOK SITE: I Believe in Spring Awakening. I've tried to make this site as informative and interactive as possible and hopefully create a sense of community. Feel free to message me about anything. The musical Spring Awakening is currently playing on Broadway, winner of EIGHT Tony Awards including 2007 BEST MUSICAL. Based on Frank Wedekind's 1891 expressionist play about the trials, tears, and exhilaration of the teen years, it has been hailed as the "Best Musical of the Year" by the New York Times, New York Post, Star Ledger, Journal News, New York Observer, and USA Today. It is the story of uncontrollable emotions and undeniable passion, of first love and lasting regrets. But most remarkably, it is a musical that answers questions teenagers have been asking forever. National Tour starts August, 2008! View our calendar section to see if we're playing at a city near you in our first year!
