FAQ's
1) HOW DO I AUDITION FOR THIS SHOW? We have had extensive open calls throughout the country. We will post any additional open calls in our blogs or through Myspace bulletins. Friend us if you havn't already to keep informed. In the meantime, we've made it easy for you to submit yourself singing a folk/alternative rock song on video. All videos will be seen, although people the casting directors are interested in seeing may not be contacted for a callback for months, especially since our national tour, and London production are now cast. We are, however, always looking for future replacements. Go to: http://www.springawakening.com/videoauditionsubmission/ Make sure your submission is less than 500 MB. Your screen should change and you should get a confirmation that says your submission has been received. Alternatively, you can also snail mail your DVD to: JIM CARNAHAN, SPRING AWAKENING c/o Roundabout Theatre Co 231 W 39th Street Suite 1200 New York, N.Y. 10018.
2) HOW CAN I SEND FAN MAIL TO THE CAST?To send a short thank you email to the cast, email totallytruckedblog@gmail.com. I will forward it to them for you. To send personal written mail and packages, write name of cast member, "Spring Awakening", and the address of the touring theatre we will be at. You can find theatre addresses at their website (links in the touring schedule on the right). Make sure to allow for delivery time. It is a good idea to send it to the theatre we will be at next. They can always hold letters for us until we get there. Letters that are delivered late will not be forwarded to our next location.
3) HOW DO I BUY ONSTAGE SEATS? Each touring presenter handles the onstage seats differently, although most have them available for direct sale. Some will reserve them for student rush and VIPs. You should contact your local presenter. Members of the Guilty Ones Street Team will have the opportunity to purchase reserved on-stage seats. If you havn't seen the show yet, we recommend you see it from the house the first time. You get a lot of people's backs when you sit onstage.
4) HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER OF THE GUILTY ONES STREET TEAM? just send us your contact info to nationalguiltyones@gmail.com if you are in one of our touring stops (those in Toronto should email torontoguiltyones@gmail.com). You get invited to meet and greets, backstage tours, parties and more while earning valuable marketing experience and meeting other people in your area who share your passion. All for a few hours work handing out pamplets, talking to people, and convincing your friends to see the show. br>
5) WILL THERE BE ANY UNDERSTUDIES PERFORMING ON (enter date here)? We will never announce this information ahead of time except through official press releases in the event of a major cast change. Please don't ask me. You might get more information from fans on our forums pages (listed below in response to another FAQ)
6) I HAVE THE CD BUT HAVN'T SEEN THE SHOW. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON? Wikipedia provides the most comprehensive plot synopsis: Plot Synopsis
7) I BOUGHT THE CD ON ITUNES. IS THERE A PLACE I CAN GET THE LYRICS? Go here: Get Lyrics at AllMusic.com
8) CAN YOU ADD SOME MORE MUSIC TO THE SITE? Sorry, additional songs have not been approved by the copyright holders. For now, click here to go to PROJECT PLAYLIST to add our music on your page
9) WHAT'S A 'PURPLE SUMMER?" The song is meant to be poetic and not literal, therefore it is open to interpretation, but in general terms, this song is about hope and renewal, about the cycle of life, and about moving forward by learning from past mistakes. The innocence and exuberance of Spring (youth) moving into bruised but wiser Summer (adulthood). Purple Summer is also a type of flower.
10) WHERE ELSE CAN I GO TO GET MY SPRING AWAKENING FIX? Aside from this page, you can also visit our official sister Facebook site FACEBOOK SITE: I Believe in Spring Awakening. There is also a fan forum, run by fans, for fans, at TheGuiltyOnes.org. You can also get free downloads, see exclusive content, participate in contests and join the discussion forum at our fansite: http://fanclub.springawakening.com All members of the fansite are automatically subscribed to our newsletter which will list special discounts from time to time from touring presenters, news, and updates about upcoming special events.
11) WHO RUNS THIS SITE?? Hiya. My name's Pun and I'm so glad you're here. I am connected with the production, and this site is the production's way of supplying the latest information to our fans as well as a way for you to interact with us. This is a word of mouth show, and we wouldn't be here without you guys. The people who will truly appreciate this show are smart and sophisticated, and we value your input. Spring Awakening - On Broadway's Friend Space (Top 31)
That would be so amazing if i could see the DC show and meet the cast! I have never seen Degrassi but one of my friends who was with me at the Baltimore show actually recognized him after the show in the lobby and we spoke to him for a few minutes, he was so nice, he even took a picture with her. Best of luck with the DC show, really hope I get to see it! ^_^
I did get to see you in Philly yesterday for my 6th. Time. It has been amazing to see you at Lincoln Center, then Off - Broadway twice, on Broadway twice and now in My Hometown. Thank you "All" for the Grand performance. I finally did meet many from the Cast.
I definitely wont be a stranger... but I would rather not be a stranger to the show- which is why I bought (stage) tickets while you are in DC. See you July 10th--
Oh of course! Yeah...I saw Aaron perform the main song "Catch Me if You Can" in a Youtube video and from that one song I really just want to drive to Seattle and watch the previews of the musical. I don't know how it'll fare as a whole, but it looks like with the rest of the cast, it'll be pretty popular amongst fans.
Hey i wanted to let you guys know that you guys did an awesome job where i saw you in providence. It got a little awkward with my grandmother sitting right next to me but it was still, hands down, my favorite musical out there. And your soundtracks amazing (:
Thanks for commenting back! Yes, I'm at the LA Film Festival right now. I'm actually a journalist -- I specialize in independent film and film festivals. A couple of my friends have been in the Broadway productions of Spring Awakening so I (gasp) stepped out of the film world just briefly to attend several shows. I was thrilled to hear that you were coming to my home town! I'm in LA until Friday, though.
Unfortunally my grandparents live 3 hours west of pittsbergh so yeahand even if i did get to leave early (which i do) i have to go to my friend's baby shower =*(
