    Wolfram Spyra was born in Germany in 1964. He attended the Kassel School of Art and Design between 1986-92. Wolfram lives and works as a sonic artist in Berlin and London. He wrote the music score for the Oscar winning animation film "Quest" and has released 14 albums on the independent record labels Fax, Manikin and Ricochet. He has lectured at Coventry and Kassel universities and, between 2004-2006, curated major exhibitions of sonic art at the Kulturbahnhof, Kassel. During the festivals "Dokumenta" 9,10 & 11 he participated in the artists support programme. He has performed at various other festivals including "V2 Rotterdam", "EMAF Osnabrück" and special events such as "Hessische Landesvertretung", Berlin. Wolfram has undertaken sound commissions for VW, Absolut and West and worked in an advisory capacity for Lufthansa. Spyra explores the fields of "Ambient-Environmental music", composing his own intriguing music using custom buillt instruments like the "Triangle-pads" and the "Electrolyra", but also diverse sound sculptures. In February 1999 Spyra's album "Etherlands" was released, from which he personally thinks the best cd he has ever made. Together with the previous album "Sferics" they present "electromagnetic music from molecular friction in changing atmospherical conditions". The album "Invisible Fields" from 2003 belongs to the same series of concept releases. Spyra's 2006-album "Orphan Waves" continued his series of cd's which are inspired by radio waves and other invisible phenomena. "January in June" from 2009 was inspired by a more "earthly" theme, which is his personal relation to people, landscapes, cities and events in Eastern Europe.
