Squarewave are a North East band with a sound aimed at nothing or no-one in particular, instead drawing on everything they've ever heard and loved to inspire their music instead of writing to fit a genre.
Their music is something you can nod your head and wiggle your hips too with tune that the old grey's will still be whistling the next day.
Influences range from Radiohead to Alanis Morrisette, Mansun to Michael Jackson, Aim to Sonic Youth, Lou donaldson to Lou reed.
This band will appeal to anyone who likes a good song wit a catchey chorus!
The band has been in the making for three years writing and dreaming and have been gigging around the North East for the last year or so now and have been well received where ever they've been.
They are currently recording, writing and gigging and are enjoying being busy.
The band is always keen to play gigs wherever they can, so get in touch if you have a slot to fill. .
Check our gig listings and try to catch us as soon as you can

yeah sometimes people get us mixed up with 1000 lies (who are much more METAL than we are!!) but from round here too!!
We're doing ok on the drummer front and practising with a guy now, its going well, weve got another one at the head of steam which we might do like the last one or if hes ready we'll do with him. and hey thanks for thinking it was lush anyway. we liked you guys so should defo sort a gig out together after then? Maybe a gig swap??
oooh ehh... hard to say cos theres so many venues in glasgow 2bh, and i dont know a lot about u so i duno what sorta attendance levels u tend to get.
the best places to get gigs are probably king tuts and classic grand and abc which are sorta average sizes, then uve got places like nice n sleazys and barfly which are a little smaller.
im guessing ur not gna sell out the barrowlands or carling academy or secc, but it mite be worth a try XD
Thanks Paul, I take that as a compliment! I think it's 'cos I love to stretch my range when singing, also I find the best melodies with open tunings, otherwise I don't venture up the dusty end of the guitar! LOL. Hope to catch you playing again, Lou has a lovely voice, I heard her singing better on your recordings. Also thought the "Computer " sounds were really different. All the very best. Barbara x
