Sounds Like
Un-pure, back-porch urban junkgrass filtered through the city via a hammock hanging somewhere in the Caribbean.
The brand new album Dreaming the Life is now available at CDBABY:
Sam Reid & the Riot Act delivers their own brand of live acoustic music. Influenced and continually inspired by traditional Irish/Scottish/Appalachian fiddle tunes and the rhythms of the vast Caribbean Sea, Sam grew up flatpicking bluegrass guitar outside of Boston and joined up with Johnny R. while the two were members of country/punk outfit Three Day Threshold. Mando whiz A. Aaron Goff lends fiery mando pickin' to the mix and, voila (or, walla! a riot.. Holla!) Gettysburg, PA's own JC Campbell holds it all together with hypnotizing drums which make it nearly impossible not to stomp yer feet.
Early Spring 2009 marks the release of the band's debut cd:

Please check out our new comic "Vampire Bankers" music video. The guy who directed Madonna's first music vid also directed this. We think it's pretty funny.

Wood Spider would like to cordially invite you to 115 Franklin St, a neighborhood punk house in Allston, MA. We are lucky enough to be sharing the stage (basement floor) with O Pioneers!!!, FORT! the Band, Interrobang?! and the Brave Little Abacus! Get there at 7 to see us play!
Admission is free, but bring some a few bills anyway, to help out the touring bands (OP!!! has made their trek all the way from Texas!)
You have our eternal thanks,
-WS
yah... seven stitches. I might be able to start to play again next week. I will be in North Carolina- otherwise I would come and throw rotten tomatoes at you.
I will send someone in my stead. To throw tomatoes.

This show will host a clothing drive for The Bethesda Project http://www. bethesdaproject. org which provides shelter, food, and clothing for the chronically homeless. With winter coming around the bend, the need for warm winter clothing is more vital than ever to these fragile members of our society. Donations of small winter items (hats, gloves, scarves, or warm socks) are all that is being requested at this drive.
