BIO:
Performing mostly original music, Stage of Existence’s (SOE) style was created by the bass and melody driven singer songwriter, Brian Runkel. SOE combines a myriad of hard rock sounds featuring melodramatic vocals, driving drums and heavy guitar sounds to create a collection of crowd pleasing music. Brian started the project in 2003, finalizing the line-up in 2004 and beginning the journey playing entry level shows and recording a demo entitled "The Demon" in early 2005.
Steadily gigging, SOE has debuted on the radio in September 20th 2005 on 93.7 KLBJ Local Licks Live with Loris Lowe and then in July 4th 2006 on Austin's Fox Morning News Television program. They were featured on the Edge Magazine's Showcase, “Real Texas Edge 2006 Volume 4 CD Compilation”, with their single “Feel the Pain”.
The band had a hiccup in early 2007. Guitarist, AJ Lujano had a motorcycle accident delaying the release of their freshman album "Unknown". Now luckily with a fully recovered AJ, they are back better than ever playing shows and promoting the CD. It is available by mail , Waterloo Records or at Cheapo Discs.
Currently, SOE is working on their Sophmore album with producer, Paul Soroski. Paul brings his engineering and producing skills along with drumming protege' Keith Slack to bridge the gap from mediocure to f'ing bad ass!!!
Listen to samples of the first two songs of the EP and just wait!!!
Quotes:
"What appeals to me is the contrast of the soaring vocals over the dark, heavy, somewhat hypnotic undercurrent of the rest of the band."
- Loris Lowe, Music Director, KLBJ-FM
"SOE found that unique sound that every rock band in Austin has been searching for..."
- Jay Nichols - Jbonefx.com
"SOE is power with taste. Soaring melodic vocals over fat guitar and a rock-solid rhythm section. No weak links here..."
- Sharon Arthur, Booking Agent - Austin, TX
Very sorry, I needed to cancel on the Killeen show... turns out I need to be out of town during that weekend... in the opposite direction. I'm pretty bummed... but definitely want to head to Killeen soon and check you guys out!
Same here. I prefer to think of the first slot as kicking the party off instead of "opening". Anyways, glad you guys were able to jump on board with us; it should be good times.-Cam
