From Los Angeles, Dan Silver and David Miltenberger have put their hearts and souls on the line to create Standing Shadows. Combining elements from progressive, alternative, indie, and electro-obscura-rock, Standing Shadows have dared to push the envelope of sonic creativity, while remaining catchy and intoxicating. Their debut record ‘Five Years of Darkness,’ due in early 2010, will make you a believer. If you think you’ve heard their music on TV already - you have! The band has earned placements in the new 90210, The Cleaner, The Shield, and Harper’s Island TV shows. Standing Shadows can also be heard in the in-game Trailers in Guitar Hero 5, backing the interviews with Matt Bellamy (Muse) and Shirley Manson (Garbage).
The history of Standing Shadows starts here..... One could say that the phrase ‘Never giving up’ is not in the vocabulary of the band ‘Standing Shadows’. Consisting of 2 longtime friends, the duo team of Dan Silver and David Miltenberger parted ways in early 2002.
Within two years of their split, Dan and David decided to reunite in the studio on a more casual level. With David living in Missouri, and Dan in Los Angeles, this duo would travel to either state to get together several times a year in the name of music. Over the next 5 years, these weekend projects became the foundation of their new band ‘Standing Shadows’.
The sound of ‘Standing Shadows’ has energy, heart, feeling, beautiful melodies, interesting instrumentation and production, great song arrangements, energizing vocals, and much more! Their new album, titled ‘Five Years of Darkness’, symbolizes the 5 years that Dan and David were spread across this country --- but yet still found a way to continue their musical endeavors!
Thanks, man! We had a fkload of sound issues but it was fun. You guys had Anna dancing. That's saying something! Stay in touch, man. Maybe we'll have to plan some shows together. -Rob
