Born & bred in san diego, m started starcrossed in 2001 with one goal in mind - to enlighten the world of indie rock with a diverse sound that would stimulate, elevate, excite and speak to the hearts & souls of its listeners.
Since 2001, the band has survived some important transformations. After suffering the tragic loss of their best friend and rhythm guitarist bridgitte bardell, the remaining members vowed to stay commited & evolved the group into the starcrossed it is today.
M is now joined by X & shadow dr-5. Their sound is strongly influenced by the cure, the jesus & mary chain, depeche mode, my bloody valentine, joy division & the sundays. They have been described by enthusiastic fans as electro/indie with a shoegaze & goth persuasion. The band has recently finished a full length cd entitled "waves" and is currently focused on recording and producing a new full length album. They continue to play at numerous san diego venues to a variety of audience and age groups.
Keeping the purity of their goal in mind, we hope to get signed to a record label and spread our unique musical style on tour sometime in the very near future.

our guitarist & close friend of 10 years bridgit bardell just passed away, this is very devistating to everyone that knew her. we are dedicating our show on 9/14/07 to her memory. we also made a memorial page for her that will have pictures and memories, here is the link for all her friends

I just released my new cd featuring Alejandro Escovedo, Mark Lanegan, Steve Berlin (los lobos), Chris and Carla from the Walkabouts, Peter Case, Scott McCaughey (YFF, REM)and Jim Roth (built to spill). CD has liner notes by Biographer Charles R. Cross (BackStreets-Springsteen...Heavier than Heaven-Cobain...Roomful of Mirrors-Hendrix...etc. Also I have finally put "Passing Thru" on my site as well for you to hear...this is the one with Eddie Vedder, Victoria Williams, and Carla Torgerson trading verses with me...it has not been availablé for a long time, and I also have it on i-tunes, etunes, amazon and rhapsody.
