Sparked by a conversation in a parking lot somewhere deep in the Pine Barrens of southern New Jersey in the Summer of 2006, Staring Problem was born. At an age when your peers stop stagediving and start rolling their eyes it's important to keep focus and remember what brought you here in the first place.
This is our collective way of giving back. We come from a varied history of past bands; some that went no where, some that took us around the world. It's important we all play our little part in the collective of hardcore/punk. We as hardcore/punk kids (or as in our case, adults, I guess) are still a threat to "their" status-quo that tries to tell us to grow-up, tuck in our shirts, and fall in line with the rest. It's still, as cliché as it sounds, more than just music.
Kenz plays guitar. The other guy playing the other guitar is Andy. Sean plays bass when he's not painting things or drawing. Swank is the one who's screaming in your ear. C. Willis Billards plays the drums. We are Staring Problem.
SWANK was in the short lived concert groups Leftover Cake and SWANK! the Band. He's a treasure trove of knowledge when it comes to Asian history.
KENZ was in Ensign 10 years ago for 3 years and was in The Break 2 years ago for about 10 minutes (4 months). He's an idiot with no OFF switch.
ANDY was in 3 Against 1, A New Enemy, Tear It Up and Forward to Death. He also currently plays in Splitting Headache. He can do the most tweaked out push-up's.
CORYBILLY was in Get Real for maybe about the same time Kenz was in The Break, he also cut loose in Robot Whales. He fixes luxury cars has one too.
ORTLEY BEACH'S SEAN URIE also jammies in Analog Life and Sierra Madre. He's got a collection of sweet hats that include a beautiful Phoenix Suns and an even more beautiful Hot Tuna hat.
k8 and i were eating dinner at the lanes last night and while we were waiting for our food dj jay played a staring problem song and pete souls said "is this f-minus?" ...stoked cos they rule and so do you!
yeaaaaah i'll see you guys this friday...hopefully you see me too, because if not i might be invisible..and that would be a ridiculous problem to deal with
