Daniel Johns, Foo Fighters, Pete Yorn, Mark Tremonti, Incubus, Our Lady Peace/Raine Maida, Blink, Classic Rock, and anything that makes us wanna dance in the rain...
We’re a rock band. That’s all we ever wanted to be. Music Connection Magazine reviewed us and called our music
“epic and
exhilarating” (way cool). Our songs are on the aggressive side but still accessible. Fans say we look at life with a convoluted
honesty. Maybe. We just write what we feel.
Starving for Gravity started out in North Dakota, and we’ve been together for about three years. We were a cover band that played
local bars and clubs around Grand Forks, until we saved enough money to finance an album of our own material. That got the attention of
79 Volts Management, who asked us to come to California. We decided to go for it, so we hit the road and toured the Midwest and
Southwest United States on our way to LaLa Land.
The move was more than a change of scenery. Not only was the weather warmer, the music scene was way different. 79 Volts hooked us
up with multi-platinum producer, John "JR" Ryan of "Chicago Kid Productions" (Santana, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Baha Men) who recorded ten new
tracks for our latest album, ”Urgency.” We played the Viper Room and lucked out – scoring a tour agent who had us open for Vast.
Since then, we’ve played shows from San Diego to San Francisco, including the eWorldMusic Launch Party, the Cal State Long Beach
“Battle of The Bands” (we won); the Temecula Valley Film & Music Festival Showcase, where we won "Best of Fest"; Winner of the LAMM JAM
"Rock Music Contest"; Winner of the Worldwide Contest: "Rock Against Diabetes" where we were honored to play with Ron "Bumblefoot"
Thal, guitarist for Guns 'n Roses and his All Star Band; Winner of "Best Rock Artist of 2008" at the Hollywood Music Awards; and
selected to Play the Main Stage at NAMM '2009...
We love playing shows and made a lot of friends. We’re going crazy trying to figure out the music business. But, hey, that’s
management’s gig. We just want to be musicians. If you like what you hear and want to get to know us, send a message or add a comment.
We’d like to hear what you think.
Rock on…
