State Your Cause is an honest and energetic soundtrack for life
hailing from Central Ohio. While placing a strong emphasis on
hard-hitting live shows, SYC has established themselves as a
rock-and-roll mainstay for their growing fan base. The band refuses to
disappoint the crowd and acknowledges their fans as the reason to take
the stage. State Your Cause is committed in their journey to remove
the "local" tag from their name and extend their brand nationally.
With the music industry in a state of complete uncertainty, SYC has
chosen to make listeners their chief concern. Upon concquering the
local music scene in 2007, SYC's original founders -- bassist Danny
Zeid and guitarist Deepan Rajah -- sought to break into the national
music scene drawing from radio influences ranging from Breaking
Benjamin and Three Days Grace to Lost Prophets and Story of the Year.
After dropping members that didn't share their growing vision, Rajah
and Zeid drafted drummer Matt Young from a competing band and soon
gained the attention of vocalist James Scott. After a successful run
of shows fronting the band, James convinced his brother, guitaristJohn
Scott, to leave his band and join. With State Your Causecompletely
reformed by mid-2008, the five members teamed with producer Ben
Schigel (Drowning Pool, Switched, Walls of Jericho) to create their
debut album, "Escape, Rebellion and Promise."While working with
Schigel, SYC has broadened their appeal intending to gain attention
professionally as well as listeners of multiple genres. With dreams
and careers on the line, State Your Cause will continue to push for
all to take notice.
