They first collaborated on a variety of projects before settling on Stealing Sheep. Together they have been part of a harp Orchestra, part of an electronica art collective and part of a gypsy prog/math rock band whilst they were studying in Liverpool. They are originally from Norway, Canada and UK and now live in Liverpool.
Their first gig as a three girl line up was at an anti-folk night at FACT Gallery in Liverpool as part of a school project. A year later they continued this idea as stealing sheep.
They have been together since summer 2008. In the summer they toured the English Folk Festivals and recently finished a concept tour of Manchester.
They are recording an album in February coinciding a live session with Janice Long on BBC Radio 2. They have also began building a miniature set for an animated video for the track 'sleep' which will be finished for the new album release date.
