   About steevio
Steevio has a long history of creating electronic music. He co-managed the UK's first electro-funk / breakdance club 'The Sidewalk' in Newcastle in the early 1980's, and was the driving force behind Acid an early experimental electrofunk outfit in 1983. He spent the end of the eighties as guitarist in acid rock / grunge cross-over band Dead Flowers till he discovered techno and released his first track in 1992. In 1994 he co-founded the influencial acid label Roost Records, recording under the name 3000003. In 1997, he co-founded the tough techno-funk label Torque Recordings, and began releasing tracks under the names Mindtours and Free Radicals with co-writer Charlie Henderson. Steevio helped to form the Mindtours label in 2000, and began making deeper, more experimental music, with flavours of techno, minimal house, broken beat, dub and jazz. He has always remained true to the live hardware approach to electronic music production. "Steevio's productions and live performances nestle analogue ideas and polyrhythms within spontaneous hip shakin' grooves, rejecting orthodox linear structures in favour of branching sounds and instinctive progressions. Jacking 4/4 arrangements scatter into broken beats while deep alien keys and percussive tones morph and filter seamlessly into each other. The result is spacious, gritty and organic dance music to keep your mind and feet moving" (under_score)

Hey, confirmation for the nation. I just bought two not very expensive tickets, so we are on our way to give you both a big kiss at the fezzy. Ooh man, I was shiting me pants, because the last quote I got was €500!!

Hey, you still have one slot to put Tripcode as one of you best myspace friends.

Another ting, um, I suppose we are going to have to get a lift down, so count us in!!

Big love

Fer and Em

Beat the Krauts, beat the krauts, beat the krauts!!!

Forgot you were a footy fan. Can't complain, good team, good football and we beat Italy, Russia and Germany in a row. That's the way cups should be won, and I'm glad we've done it that way.

Hey, plane tickets for the beginning of August are at least €350, which is obviously quite dear times two, so I think we are going to try last minute. I would be devastated if I couldn't come to the fezzy.

Big love

Hi mate,

Things are going well indeed, but we are having our doubts about becoming slaves of a bar. What we want to have is a cultural association and open when we have an event, and people are going to have to get used to that, or go to one of the millions of bars in La Laguna, Santa Cruz or Puerto de la Cruz. If you guys finally came down here, of course I would like to organise a party with yous as the main stars with visuals and everything and invite some of the most interesting techno people around. As I invite these people, I would ask them as well about the possibility of organising something else somewhere else, with a proper poster and possibilities of at least getting paid.

I was missing you guys a lot when Em was up there. We are definitely up for the Freerotation, and it seems that Em spoke to Dave Morow's wife (Sarah?) about us working there, which would be good, as plane tickets seem to be a bit dear for those dates. In any case, Inglan is cheap now, yoo hoo (despite being as expensive as always). I have been taking the opportunity to buy some records for my modern funk electro palava sessions at this place called Txola in La Laguna.

Techno is going fine. Believe it or not, I still haven't got the controller, but it seems nobody does in Europe, so hey, patience is the way. Since I last spoke to you I have only been working on two or three weird downoffbeattempoish tunes and I have kept learning to discover some more producing secrets like how to work with compressors and sidechain compression (good video on this on youtube).

I am looking forward to partying with you guys again soon and I really can't wait.

Big love
Fer
