Le jour où Stéfane Lippé a déposé ses premiers vinyles sur les tables tournantes du célèbre Sky Pub, un nouveau chapitre s'est ouvert dans la magnifique histoire d'amour que vit le Québec avec la musique house. Né avec le don de la compréhension de la complexité musicale, Stéfane Lippé était destiné à un chemin pavé de succès, loin devant ses humbles débuts à la Polyvalente Thérèse-Martin, de Joliette. Inspiré par les Frankie Knuckles, Deep Dish, Stéphan Grondin, Derrick Carter et Mark Anthony, il est omniprésent dans le nightlife montréalais depuis le début du dernier millénaire et est rapidement devenu l’un des DJs les plus respectés en ville.
Le travail acharné de Stéfane Lippé lui a valu d’être DJ résident derrière les consoles de plusieurs clubs de Montréal, comme le Sky, le Sisters (Dimanche Church), le Stereo Nightclub, le Club Opera, le Cabaret Mado et le Circus Afterhours et de travailler dans différents clubs prestigieux de la planète tels l’Élysée Montmartre (Paris), le Fly (Toronto), le Klub (Nice), le Gorg-O-Mish (Vancouver), le Terminal (Québec), le Red Light (Paris), le Sunrise (Ottawa), le Spartacus (Marseille), le Kingdom (Cologne), ainsi qu’à plusieurs événements majeurs du BBCM, de Divers/Cité et bien d’autres.
En 2004, il créé un véritable coup de théâtre en quittant le club Unity II avec fracas, préférant s’installer aux commandes du mythique Parking Nightclub de la rue Amherst, le plus féroce compétiteur du Unity : « Ce fut très rapide », raconte-t-il. « Avec le recul, je peux aujourd’hui dire que ce fut la meilleure décision de ma carrière. J’adore travailler avec Gregg et Pascal qui sont très humains et surtout, à l’écoute des gens ».
Stéfane Lippé a amassé un impressionnant bagage artistique, devant les foules les plus imposantes du Nightlife Montréalais. Vous avez peut-être eu la chance de l’entendre le 3 août 2002 alors qu’il obtenait sa première vraie chance de prouver qu’il pouvait tenir les guides d’un grand événement, signant le set d’ouverture du Twist Party, pour l’électrisante DJ Paulette (Londres), au défunt Club Med World. Ou encore, peut-être étiez-vous à la Fonderie Darling le 29 janvier 2005, alors que Stéfane partageait les platines des DJs Tiga, Robert De La… Gauthier et Rob Di Stefano (NYC), lors du désormais célèbre The Underground Legacy, ou encore sur le plancher de danse du Centre Bell, le 31 décembre 2005, alors qu’il était l’un des invités spéciaux de Célébration, avec les Paul Oakenfold (Londres), Steve Lawler (Londres) et Franco Fabi. L’année 2007 ne sera pas en reste, avec une performance du tonnerre dans le cadre du party Encore 07 à Québec et une rencontre avec les grands Peter Rauhofer (NYC), Antoine Clamaran (France), D-Formation (Espagne) et Mark Anthony, alors que Stéfane ouvre la dix-septième édition du Black & Blue (2007), au Stade Olympique de Montréal.
Constamment à la recherche de nouveaux sons et soucieux d’apprendre de nouvelles techniques, la profondeur et la chaleur des rythmes sexy du house Montréalais sont les plus grandes inspirations de Stéfane : « Je crois que le secret est d’avoir confiance en ce que nous faisons. Je me donne toujours à 100%. Le travail ne me fait pas peur. Tu peux me donner trois contrats en autant de soirs et je vais les faire avec plaisir. J’aime voir les gens s’amuser au maximum sur ma musique et d’avoir un contact avec eux ».
Comment vit-il avec le succès, lui qui a terminé en deuxième place du TOP 10 –DJ Québécois 2006 du site LESTUBBIES.COM ? « J’apprends doucement à vivre avec ça. Je ne le réalise pas toujours. Ce sont souvent des journalistes comme toi qui me le font remarquer (rires) !! Sérieusement, ça me touche beaucoup de voir que les gens aiment ce que je fais. C’est grâce à eux si j’ai le privilège de faire ce métier que j’aime tant !! ».
Qu’il performe au Circus, au Parking ou encore au Fly de Toronto, Stéfane Lippé ne laisse rien au hasard, dans le but d’offrir les prestations les plus époustouflantes. De quoi garder en haleine les fêtards jusqu’aux petites heures du matin !!

The day Stéfane Lippé placed his first vinyl on the Sky Pub turntables, a new chapter began in the long history of Quebec’s love for house music. Born with a complete instinctual understanding of the musical spectrum, Stéfane Lippé was destined for the road to success, far from his humble beginnings at Thérèse-Martin High School in Joliette, Quebec. Inspired by the likes of Frankie Knuckles, Deep Dish, Stephan Grondin, Derrick Carter, and Mark Anthony, he has become one of the top figures in the Montréal nightlife scene since the beginning of the millennium, quickly becoming one of the most respected DJs of the city, province, and country.
His hard work had lead Stéfane Lippé to become a resident DJ at numerous clubs in Montréal, such as Sky, Sisters (Church Sundays), Stereo Nightclub, Club Opera, Cabaret Mado, and Circus Afterhours. Furthermore, he has worked at such prestigious international clubs as Élysée Montmartre (Paris), Fly (Toronto), Klub (Nice), Gorg-O-Mish (Vancouver), Terminal (Québec), Red Light (Paris), Sunrise (Ottawa), Spartacus (Marseille), and Kingdom (Cologne), as well as major events for BBCM, Divers/Cité, and many other organizations.
In 2004, Stéfane caused a major stir in departing Unity II for the mythical Parking Nightclub, Unity’s direct competitor: “It was a swift change”, he explains. « In hindsight, I can now safely say that the move was the best decision of my career. I love working with Gregg and Pascal who are very human and who listen to people».
Stéfane Lippé has created an impressive artistic portfolio while playing in front of the most important Montréal crowds. You may have had the chance to hear him on August 3, 2002, in his first opportunity to prove he belongs at important events, opening the famous Twist Party for the exhilarating DJ Paulette (London), at the long-gone Club Med World. You may even have caught him at the Fonderie Darling on January 29, 2005, as he shared the decks with DJs Tiga, Robert De La… Gauthier, and Rob Di Stefano (NYC) at the inaugural Underground Legacy, or at Celebration at the Bell Centre on December 31, 2005, playing with the likes of Paul Oakenfold (London), Steve Lawler (London), and Montrealer Franco Fabi. Always in the lookout for new sounds and always willing to learn new techniques, the depth and warmth of Montréal’s sexy house rhythms are Stéfane’s greatest inspirations: «I think the secret is to have confidence in what you do. I always give my 100% as work simply does not scare me. You can offer me three gigs in three nights and I will gladly do them all. I love to watch people have a great time to my music while I create a bond between us».
How does he deal with success, indicated by his second-place finish in the TOP 10 – Quebec DJ 2006 poll on the LESTUBBIES.COM website? « I am slowly learning to live with it, as it’s something I don’t always realize. It’s usually the media that brings it up (laughter)!! Seriously, it touches me deeply to see people enjoying what I do. It’s thanks to them I have the privilege to do what I do, a career that I love so much !»
Whether performing at Circus, Parking, or even Fly, Stéfane Lippé leaves nothing to chance in order to give his best each and every performance, allowing people to dance the night away !!
