Os Stepacide nasceram no inicio do ano 2004 em Carcavelos com vontade de criar Reggae, defendendo os valores e a cultura Rasta, mas sem esquecer a nossa ascendência europeia. Durante este percurso temos feito a nossa própria interpretação da musica Reggae, sempre com o maior respeito pela Jamaica como origem do Reggae e África como origem da Humanidade.
O que tocamos espelha essas influências e resulta numa viagem pelo Reggae e o Dancehall, passando pelo Ska e pela música Africana, que tenta passar esta mensagem de união e celebração para quem ouve.
Desde 2004, estes 9 amigos tiveram o prazer de partilhar este sentimento com alguns dos melhores artistas nacionais e internacionais que espalharam o nome Stepacide pelo panorama nacional. Entre actuações marcantes com bandas portuguesas como SOULS OF FIRE, PRINCE WADADA, DA WEASEL e TERRAKOTA, tivémos oportunidade de partilhar o palco duas vezes com o artista africano com mais vendas de todos os tempos ALPHA BLONDY, a lenda viva GREGORY ISAACS, o artista revelação de 2008 ZIGGI e os neo-zelandeses FAT FREDDY’S DROP. Contamos ainda com presença em vários festivais e eventos como o BUONDI BILLABONG PRO 2008 e, por dois anos consecutivos, no FESTIVAL SUDOESTE TMN (2007 e 2008).
Para que todos possam fazer parte da nossa crescente família, em Junho de 2009, disponibilizámos para download gratuito o “Love & Honour EP”. Sendo a nossa primeira experiência em estúdio, o EP é o fruto destes 5 anos de trabalho e experiências que acabam por marcar o nosso som.
Sempre com o futuro em vista, os Stepacide preparam agora um ano de 2010 com muitas novidades e oportunidades para podermos espalhar cada vez mais a nossa mensagem.

Stepacide started out at the beginning of 2004, with the will to create Reggae music, standing up for the values of Rasta Roots Culture and our European heritage. Through time, we’ve developed our own interpretation of Reggae, always with the utmost respect for Jamaica as the birthplace for Reggae and Africa as the cradle of Humanity.
What we play shows those influences in a journey through Reggae and Dancehall music with Ska and African music, that tries to spread a message of celebration and unity for all.
Since 2004, these 9 friends have had the pleasure of sharing this feeling with some of the most acclaimed Portuguese and international artists, spreading the word on the band’s powerful performances. While playing with Portuguese acts such as SOULS OF FIRE, PRINCE WADADA, DA WEASEL AND TERRAKOTA, we’ve had the opportunity of sharing the stage twice with the best selling African artist of all times ALPHA BLONDY, with the living legend GREGORY ISAACS, with 2008’s hit act ZIGGI and New Zealand’s FAT FREDDY’S DROP. Stepacide have played quite a few festivals and events such as BUONDI BILLABONG PRO 2008 and, for two consecutive years, the biggest music festival in Portugal SUDOESTE TMN (2007 and 2008).
In order to increase our ever growing family, in June 2009 we’ve put up for free download the “Love & Honour EP”. Being our first recording experience, it is the result of 5 years of the hard work and experiences that make our sound today.
Always looking ahead, Stepacide are now working on lots of new stuff, hoping that 2010 will be a good year to keep spreading our message worldwide.
