Twenty year old singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Steve Appleton will release his second single City Won't Sleep on August 10th from his debut album When The Sun Comes Up, out August 31st.

Taking inspiration from Pop, Jazz, Reggae and Funk, Steve Appleton has an ear for a tune and an eye for an incredible live show and wrote and produced his entire album. To summarise; think Jack Johnson produced by Pendulum by way of Mike Skinner. Sounds a mouthful, but somehow it all works very well indeed.

When The Sun Comes Up is an album about all sorts of life experiences and Steve sings about everything from funky venues to one night stands and ruling the world. The albums title track is the celebratory sound that perfectly encapsulates the big nights out of which young life is made; if it were a TV show, it would most definitely have to be Skins. When The Sun Comes Up is an album truly about being and feeling young.

Steve Appleton was born and raised in Surrey and from the age of fifteen was playing piano in a swanky Soho eatery performing his own material and covers from the likes of Elton John to Billy Joel. He signed to RCA Label Group in the Summer of 2007 after which he disappeared inter-railing for a month before knuckling down to finish his debut album whilst his friends went off to University.

Since then Steve has furthered his travels with publicity shoots in Miami and LA and a trip to Cape Town where the video for Dirty Funk was filmed with Director Robert Hales (Justin Timberlake, Mark Ronson, Oasis and Kings of Leon). In the last year he has also performed alongside the likes of John Legend, The Saturdays and The Twang along with headlining his own gigs up and down the country from Glasgow to London. This summer he'll be performing at Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park along with numerous other festivals and headline shows.
