Working from these foundational truths, Shaohannah's Hope exists to enable children living without the love and hope of an earthly family to be adopted into "covenant homes." These families can provide not only the love and support needed for this life, but also provide a child with the knowledge of God's plan for his or her eternal life with a forever family called The Body of Christ. The Chapmans have also co-authored childrens picture books in a series about adoption. The Shaoey and Dot series, named after the Chapmans first adopted daughter, Shaohannah (Shaoey) Hope, was launched with the Chapmans first picture book, Bug Meets Bundle, in November 2004. Filled with delightfully whimsical illustrations from Mary Beths brother, Jim Chapman, the Shaoey and Dot picture book series truly is a family affair.The first installment, titled Shaoey & Dot: Bug Meets Bundle, featured Shaohannah and retold the adventure of her adoption from China.
