Tom Connors was born February 9th 1936 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
Tom was taken away from his mother at a young age by the Childrens Aid and was adopted by the Aylward family in Skinners Pond, Prince Edward Island where he lived until the age of 15 when he started his hitchhiking journey across Canada.
Tom visited all four corners of Canada singing about what he has seen and singing about what makes Canada so unique compared to the rest of the world. Tom got himslef noticed when he was in the northern Ontario town of Timmins and was short a nickel for a beer at the Maple Leaf Hotel, so the bartender agreed to give Tom a beer if he would play a few songs. Those few songs turned into thirteen month contract to play at the Maple Leaf Hotel, a weekly spot on the CKGB radio station in Timmins, eight 45-RPM recordings, and the beginning of Stomping Tom Connors.
IndieCan Radio, the best music you've never heard, airs on XM Satellite Radio The Verge (Channel 87) twice a week plus ten FM and internet radio stations across North America. Downloaded and streamed by over 120 countries.

What do toads and troops have in common? Aside from both putting in time in swamps when duty calls, both share a link with a man named Gil Leclerc who goes by the nickname, “Old Toad” who sends free music C.D’s to the troops. Old Toad contacts indie (independent) musicians through websites such as Garageband, Soundclick, MySpace and Facebook and asks them to allow him to use one of their songs on his “Troop CD”. The musicians donate their songs royalty free and Old Toad distributes the CD’s, entirely for free, to troops stationed at home and around the world. The CD’s are a compilation of songs from 20 artists from across the globe. The idea behind the CD’s is to give the troops a chance to listen to something from home, the majority of the artists are Canadian, and the packaging is comprised of messages thanking the troops for their service and letting them know they are not forgotten by those at home. The musicians involved in this project find that Old Toad is a source of encouragement for them as well, he provides new contacts, goes out to shows and promotes their latest activities. This great initiative of Old Toad’s is entirely self-funded, he doesn’t have a charitable number, refuses to accept cash donations and does not sell or distribute the CD’s for profit in anyway. As with all things, changes are necessary, the requests for CD’s have increased dramatically and Old Toad is asking people interested in helping him meet the demand of the requests to donate CDR’s. Those interested in doing so are encouraged to buy them online and have them shipped to Old Toad’s address as he does not wish to receive cash donations. For more information, or to donate ,please contact Gil Leclerc (OldToad) at oldtoadgil@rogers.com
It's been a busy year for me and the crew. Just finished working with (in no particular order) Kid Rock, George Michael, Crosby Stills Nash, Monty Python (Spamalot), Billy Idol, Stevie Wonder, REM, Jesus Christ Superstar, Iron Maiden, Etc Etc. the list goes on...
We helped build life-size robot inflatable dinosaurs. They looked real with the right lighting, sound FX, and proper puppetry. The huge set and stage design helped the illusion. We turned the stadium into a post-modern prehistoric jungle scene. Back stage, the dinosaurs weren't quite so ferocious so we managed to get a few good photos from our on-site affiliates.
plus... we have new pics from the U2 tour, so come and see. all you roadies and stagehands out there... keep the pictures and postcards coming! WE LOVE IT!
