Dear, Fellow adventurous music partners,
Hello, my name is L. A. Jenkins and I’m the guitarist for the group, “Stop by Fear”, and I’m would like to introduce you to this musical consortium.
“Stop by Fear”, the musical consortium is a quintessential marriage of new music and the avant-garde. The group's combination of modern jazz/free improvisation, noise, experimental, ambient, has created a powerful fusion.
LA Jenkins is Stop by Fear: his influences and playing experience are diverse. Born in Columbus Ohio, studied music at Eastern New Mexico University, L.A. has performed with various groups all across the continental U.S... L.A. studied the harmolodic approach to harmony as developed and played by Ornette Coleman.
Compositionally, his mentors are an eclectic crew: Anthony Braxton, James Brown, Bill Frisell, Bill Laswell, Leroy Jenkins, Ornette Coleman, Phillip Glass and David Torn just to name a few.
L.A. has released several albums,” Unknown Man”, “Persistence of Visions” and the 2006, released, “Momentum into Nothingness” to highlight some of his past work’s.
L.A.’s current project is the experimental music titled: “Angle of Proclivity” the new CD release will introduce me, my band, “Stop by Fear” to the world listening audience and experimental modern jazz enthusiasts.
L.A. Jenkins has been joined by Chris Murray drums and sampler on this soon to be release CD and will present our perspective on the new sounds in experimental modern jazz.

This collaboration was a fortuitist coming together into this diverse space called, modern jazz / free improvisation music. We anticipate after you listen to “Angle of Proclivity” you will agree that this music will satisfy your listening endeavor.
Our goal is to disseminate this music to the listening audience that enjoys a different musical perspective.
