Influences
Stop Me Short's music is influenced by the technique and styles of The Goo Goo Dolls, Fall Out Boy, Matchbox 20, Creed, and even Rod Stewart. Using carefully crafted guitar chords with modern bass and drum patterns to accent their punk-like sound.

Formed in 2006. Although relatively unknown, they are no amatures. They are bursting into the local scene with fists in the air. Continualy growing musicaly; The last three years has been spent recording their full-length original debut album "From The Ashes". Previously dealing with a high turn over rate in line-up and social distraction, it is now obvious that the four members are here to stay. Their goals are set high, and with the energy they bring to the stage, they just may realize them.
THE MEMBERS
Garret Brooks = Starting his musical career with the band Terminocity in 2005, Garret has gone through the work of developing his beat and personalizing his own rythm. He brings sexy, up-tempo thunder to the scene. He joined up with Lonno Rampa, and created Stop Me Short in 2006 with a full bag of tricks layed out on the table, which he has yet to find the bottom of.
Nick Adams = This lead guitar dynamo tantalizes the crowd with slick fingers and a youthful presence onstage. He is the youngest of the foursome, and joined SMS in 2008. Since then, he's been nothing short of fire on the fret board. Nick brings the kid out in all of his bandmates, and lends his sense of originality to the front.
Tomasz Gorzynski = What can anyone say about Tom? He's the crazy class clown of the group, who offers an eastern European flare to Stop Me Short's music and performance. His phat bass lines and adrenaline filled stage presence gets the crowd going. His addictive, care free, live-life-to-its-fullest attitude took an otherwise skeptical SMS by surprise when he joined in 2008. He is the epitome of everything suggested by the term "Rockstar", and he's not ashamed to admit it.
Lonno Rampa = Part emo, part punk, all rock. The final of the four, and one of the two original members. His rythm guitar, and rich, penetrating vocals compliment his timely lyrics. You either notice his loud mouth, or you are sucked in by his innocent appeal. In either case, his charming voice and morning after look puts the icing on the cake for the band and sets him squarely in your face.
There are many different assumptions about what the name "Stop Me Short" actually means, but in all simplicity, it means "don't let me destroy myself."
The story behind that? Well... You'll have to just listen and find out.

hey, just wanted to let you know that we have some new songs in the works. We plan to start recording some demo versions within a few weeks, and will put them up when we finish, so keep an eye out for bulletins from us. We are playing all those songs live, so you should check them out and come see us @ Mojoes (Orland Park, IL) on march 28th.
