..“It’s a Straggler’s Plea, don’t get left behind. We’ll be rocking and a-rolling through the end of time!
Stragglers Plea is a band of brothers, brought together by their mutual love for Jesus Christ and Rock music. Formed in 2005 by brothers Stephen and Paul George on Drums and Guitar respectively and Brian Templeton all of Woburn MA. All three felt a calling to come together and play and write Christian music in the vein of their favorite bands, such as Led Zeppelin and The Beatles. Besides praising Our Lord, their hope and mission is to create music that will appeal to not only Christians, but to Non Christians as well, so as to bring them into the faith and experience the never ending joy of God’s grace. Setbacks and obstacles abound, including the departure of three other members over the first 2 years, they remained determined to fulfill their mission, knowing in their hearts, it was God’s will to get their music “out there”. In 2007 after putting an ad on Craigslist, they found the answer to their prayers in Tom Tripp (from Manchester NH) to play Bass and it all clicked after that.
On Sat. May 31st 2008 the boys took part in the Proud 2B Catholic Battle of the Bands at the La Salette Shrine in Enfield NH. Stacked up againt 7 other great bands, they took home the gold! As a result of their victory, Straggler's was invited to play at the Proud 2B Cathoilc festival on Aug. 9th and will be playing future P2BC events in 2009 & 2010.
The band has finally finished their 5 song EP "Rockin In The Name Of The LORD" Featuring 5 original songs. Mixed by Jamie Bernard at Stompmachine studios and cover art by Mark Brennan.
