Their Hearts Were Full of Spring///
Schooled, intelligent British "Pop" music, acerbic wit and beautiful people. Writing the songs Phil Spector hasn't got the spare time to get round to. Link
Hindley/// Cold and alien post-punk-politik the way it's supposed to be served; with bitter vitriol from the art-house shadows. The revolution starts here.

STRANGE TORPEDO RECORDS/// is a bedroom operation run by holier-than-thou Indie snobs who don't have nearly enough time on their hands to upkeep a label. This is their manifesto:
BOUTIQUE///Because our market is niche and so is our product. D.I.Y.///Because we do everything ourselves. MICRO///Because we are merely a small collective. VANITY///Because we only release artists we love. LABEL///Because, well, we're a label.
You'd be an idiot if you failed to recognise the dramatic - some might say 'revolutionary' - changes being made in the music industry since the dawn of the digital age. Everyone we've ever met who is vaguely involved in music has their own take on it. As far as we're concerned, the MP3 is wonderful - after all, music is music - but it will never replace the feeling you get when you see a new band for the first time, pay a few quid for their latest release at the merch stand (manned by a friend-of-a-friend), rush home, peel the cellophane off and play it whilst mentally re-living the show you saw earlier. We thrive on this buzz and we don't want it to dissolve into binary code transferred via some kind of ridiculous on-demand media node. Here is the code we will live and die by:
>>>STR/// releases will be exclusively available at shows. No store - internet or otherwise - will stock them.
>>>STR/// releases will be pressed in strictly limited editions. 'Sold Out' means sold out - We will not re-issue.
>>>In addition to the physical version, all STR/// releases will be available completely free of charge in MP3 format - We will never charge for MP3 files; you can't touch them, you shouldn't pay for them.
To stay up-to-date with the latest releases from STR/// by clicking this link. Don't worry, we don't share your details and we'll only email you when we put out a new record.
If you want to send us music, STOP! - in the name of love - Read our SUBMISSIONS POLICY - before you break our hearts; think it over.
" A landscape of beautiful sandy beaches mixed with a steady diet of be-bop, folk, afro-latin, soul, blues & gospel music gave MAYA the ingredients to create her own sound which resonates through a variety of genres. " - Featuring Deacon Jones (John Lee Hooker); Larry Campbell (Levon Helm); Skip Edwards (Lucinda Williams); Jerry Jumonville (Dr. John); Tony Gilkyson (Bob Dylan); Danny 'Kootch' Kortchmar (Carole King); Jimmy Cobb (Miles Davis), Marcy Levy (Eric Clapton); The Reverend Lois Dejean's Gospel Choir, etc... Produced by Fabian Jolivet
Sounds good. Our drummer runs the label we release stuff through - Don't Tell Clare records. Only because we're so unattractive to 'proper' labels, though. Ha ha.
Hey Missy and the gang, Good Luck with the new project...
hugs kisses and dirty dishes

Our second single 'Cream' is out now!
It's got "more hooks than a butcher's shop window", according to Artrocker, and Neon Buzz say it's "a ramshackle pop riot mixing elements of a million different musical genres into one four minute slice of party perfection."
