    .. .. .......... .... .......... .. .... .......... .. ........ .. Biography (......) .. In 2005 Florian Kunde (gui./voc.), Sven Martinek (drums), Slava Giebel (gui.) and David Schenk (bass) founded the Metal band „The Alphes“ in Hagenow / Mecklenburg-Western Pommerania. .. At first everyone started to put his musical influences into music. What followed was a mix of different styles of Metal. In autumn 2006 David decided to left the band because of personal reasons and Clemens Thieke take over the place on bass guitar. They changed their name into „Strydegor“ and found their right music style – Viking Metal. The name Strydegor is derived from a nordic warrior. On 15th of March 2008 they released their first demo album titled „Legends of Midgard“ on a concert with bavarian Pagan-Metal band Wolfchant. .. On 31st of october 2008 a 4-song EP „Midwinter's Eve“ followed. 2008 was a year of many concerts too, e.g. in Berlin, Frankfurt Oder, Annaberg-Buchholz, Stralsund, Greifswald or Kiel. .. At the end of the year 2008 Strydegor signed a record deal with austrian record label „CCP-Records“. As the release of the debut-record "Back on Ancient Traces" was coming closer, the joy was overshadowed by a tragic accident: .. In the night from 22nd to 23rd of May Slava was driving back home from Bresegard near Hagenow, when he left the road and crashed into a tree. The car turned over and Slava died at the place of the accident. As by a miracle his co-driver Hendrik was uninjured. .. Despite the fact that it will be hard to carry on with the band, they decided to do it, as it would be Slava's wish. And so the record release turned into a tribute-concert fot Slava .. With the help of their friends Jan Reichhardt (Morbid Exhumation), Oliver Reimer and Julian Dierkes (Keimigkeit) Strydegor had the possibility to play the planned gigs. ..
