We are currently putting together a master list of every band all of us have listened to. Therefore it will be more of a straight up band listing not just influences. Don't be suprised if you see Dr. Dre up there.
STRYK-9, is a metal band, from New York, who blend all elements of their individual influences to create an entirely unique brand of music!! With STRYK-9s creativity, and forceful style of play, seeing them live is truly the only way to experience the energy they bring. STRYK-9 formed in May, 2000, as just a few friends jamming on Sundays. It soon turned into a serious project when their first show went over well with the crowd. STRYK-9 evolved from a four piece band, into a six piece, with two guitarists, and a DJ. This combination lasted for about a year and a half, before deciding that the writing was not going in the right direction. STRYK-9 split with one guitarist, drummer, and dj, to become a four piece once again. Not soon after, STRYK-9 was also looking for a new drummer, due to musical differences. The spot was soon filled by a much more capable drummer, and STRYK-9 started to make some real waves in the local scene. STRYK-9 have earned a reputation within metal circles for their intense brand of metalcore, and they always bring the fury and adrenaline to the stage!---Don Sill--The Goodtimes Magazine. In May 2003, three years after the forming of STRYK-9, Matt Denzler(D-Rock) joined the band. With D-Rock on drums, Tony James on guitar, Aaron Schwarz on bass, and Mike Jones on vocals, STRYK-9 is a monster!!! With this line-up, STRYK-9 has performed opening slots for such National acts as, DRY KILL LOGIC, SYMPHONY X, and THE DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND!! STRYK-9 also saw success in the 2003 Long Island Music Fest, where they placed fourth out of nearly 400 bands involved!!! 2004 was even brighter for Stryk-9, as they released their first full length CD, titled The New Breed, and took their brand of metal on the road for the first time. Stryk-9 played huge shows in Harrisburg Pennsylvania as a showcased artist for The Millenium Music Conference and can't speak highly enough of places like Charlotte, NC a home away from home. We're The New Breed!!!
