What a year! The YMG reunion, the beautiful 'The Huddle House' and The Gist re-release! I wish you the best for 2008, hoping this new year will be even better!
Merry christmas to you Stuart! One of the best things about 2007 was your new album and the YMG reunion. One of the worst things was not making it to the YMG reunion! I hope you've got lots planned for 2008!!! Tony
Stuart, I thought you might be interested in a new myspace group I started called Gigswap. The group includes a list of independent promoters from around the UK.
I started the group to try to help my favourite Birmingham bands get gigs elsewhere and to try to encourage my favourite bands from elsewhere to get gigs in Birmingham. How anyone uses the group is up to them.
I called it Gigswap beacuse most small independent promoters seem reluctant to book bands from out of town that they don't know, so, perhaps, gigswapping might persuade them otherwise.
Doh... hope all is well your end. Looks like there's yet another history of Rough Trade in the pipeline, did you hear? Let us know when your in the area. Love
A former resident of Death Junction salutes you. I used to work at the foot of Richmond Road, opposite Queens Hospital, in the basement under the county morgue---where there happened to be an excellent recording studio. (So now you know!) If we were there, I'd propose a trip to Ramone's. Thanks for all the beautiful music, and best of luck.
Bravo to you (and Philippe) for 'The Huddle House', A beautiful, terrific record. I am very touched by 'Desert Rain' and 'The Undertow' in particular. 'Random Rules', a perfect Sunday morning record, has always been very important to me and i guess i am going to spend a lot of time with 'The Huddle House' by my side.
Sweetest vocals, chorus works with Louis Philippe, marvelous guitar, romantic tunes.... "I`d Rather Be " and " Your Heart will Heal " remind me early works of Young Marble Giants.
