SUB INC’s latest incarnation SUBjects Inc. took to the scene in 2009 with a new heavier dimension to their music. Their new eagerly awaited EP is expected early 2010.
Here are a few media quotes describing the SUB SERIES so far...
Sub Inc. formed back in 2001 with the project name of Substitute Inc. After playing loads of gigs and building a name for themselves, in 2003 they released their debut CD titled "Who Knows" nationally through MGM. (Faster Louder.com.au)
Local four piece Sub Inc. strive for unusual and imaginative musical outcomes. They've certainly acheived that on their full length EP "Who Knows". It's a hard hitting sound the band have cultivated but, one that's equally infectious and engaging. (Time Off Magazine).
After forming in 2001 and releasing their debut mini-album Who Knows in 2003, SUB INC. launched new project SUBstance Inc. before recording their new EP Sky-Hi in 2007.
Sub Inc. enlisted the best production trio in Brisbane, producer Stuart Niven, mixer Forrester Savell, and masterer Dave Neil. The result is a sound so polished you feel you're listening to an international artist when you slip their debut EP "Sky-Hi" (2007) into the CD player. The music itself ranges from breathtakingly original modern metal, to progressive rock, to dark-wave electronica. The metal aspects of the disc are its strength, with track two Negative features a slippery trilling riff that System of a Down would be proud of. (Oz Prog.com)
One look at the sleeve notes for Sub Inc.’s new EP, Sky-Hi, and you become aware of a few things: their liking for extra-terrestrial design and space invaders, underscored by a sense of survival; their tunes perhaps best likened to a more reflective Butterfly Effect. One listen and you discover the fascination for creating sounds that should be played on your walkman, hopping over the arid moonscape. (Rave Magazine)
Brisbane based prog/cyber rockers Sub Inc. set the room on fire for their Ski-Hi album launch. Whether it was through their funky grooves, slammin’ metal riffs or delicate soundscapes, Sub Inc had complete command of the crowd, with nearly every participant dancing as if the bar were serving $5 LSD shot specials. (Tsunami Music Magazine)
Sub Inc. are astounding on stage, holding the audience captivated with their blend of psychedelic rock, prog and electronic metal. The audience are transfixed by the experience, Sub Inc are experimental, theatrical and total fun! (Faster Louder.com.au)
