"Bionic Breakbeat Punks have the dance-floor squirming with their jaw-dropping power, soul and perception’" - The FLY May 2008
"Those who know me well know that breakbeats give me the raging horn but so do some bands... this is so up my street." - Eddy Temple-Morris (XFM)
"The best cyberpunk riot since The Prodigy" - The Metro
"A live electronica dance band who are loved by those who know and are about to be adored by those who don't" - BBC Online
BIOG 2008 -Subsource are a frenetic concoction of electro, breakbeat and drum’n’bass executed with fearsome punk rock energy and for a band in the embryonic stages of an assault on Britain’s musical consciousness they already have an impressive CV.
Shows with Hexstatic, The Egg, Dreadzone, Dizzee Rascal and Ebony Bones, festival tear-ups at Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Isle Of Wight, Glade and V and killer remixes for the likes of GoodBooks, Parka and
Datarock may have injected Subsource into your life already.
The band have been honing their craft since their debut release of ‘This Town’ complete with the awesome Hook & Sling remix courtesy of Spin Out Records in May 2007. Now with a label founded by ex SPILL Magazine Editors Chris Dempsey (now Jeepster Recordings A&R) and Dominique Czopor (now Boileroom venue owner), Doombox Recordings first release is Subsource at their most cutting both lyrically and musically.
For a band oozing natural cool, ‘Dark Is The New Light’ takes a swipe at the current fashionista with lead singer and double bass player Stuart Henshall’s infectious vocal rants and swoons. The b-side remixes include Mr Frisk
showing off his arsenal of chops while Subsource’s co-frontman and Malawian rapper Kimba Mutanda brings his monstrous flowing attacks to the dubstep remix and the primeval free download track ‘Bows And Arrows’.
For Fans Of: Prodigy, Klaxons, Bloc Party, Pendulum, Daft Punk, Spankrock
Dark Is The New Light is out on Doombox Recordings on 10th November.
