THE SUBWAY SOUL CLUB is a fun, vibrant, monthly dance party that features up-beat 1960's Northern Soul, Motown, Boogaloo and Organ grooves on vintage vinyl. Our Philosophy? Heck, We just wanna dance!!
After a few months 'stay-cation' The Subway Soul Club is relaunching in October and this time we're moving to Brooklyn! YAY!
Subway Soul is going underground, upstairs! Our new venue is a complete contrast to before. The new space is a big white room with a WOODEN FLOOR in a private space over Public Assemby on North 6th, Williamsburg. Because its not a public bar, we are p going to have to charge a small cover of $6. There'll be a mirror ball and groovy projections on the wall and yes, air conditioning! We even have our own 'hole in the wall' entrance, so no more issues with disinterested bystanders blocking our precious dance floor. We waving our groovy banners and reclaiming Subway Soul for it's dancers!

Our music policy is Sixties Soul music that appeals to the enthusiastic record buff and general fan of sixties music alike. Every month resident DJ Phast Phreddie the Boogaloo Omnibus is joined by guest DJs who are selected from the best in their field from across the States with renowned guest DJs from across the globe. They'll wow you with their rare vinyl and popular 'floor fillers.' But you don't have to know a thing about this music to have a great time. We like to keep it up-beat and keep YOU dancing!
WHAT'S THE CROWD LIKE?
Our crowd includes mods, soulies, scooterists and hipsters of all ages. You will see a colorful array of mod dressers, but there is no dress code. As British hostess Lady Dawn was quoted in Crunch magazine, "We are delighted if people want to dress up, but it's really all about the music. You can wear a lamp shade on your head if you want!" (Though so far no one has taken us up on this.)

From October 16th we will be grooving every third Friday of the month ( subject to confirmation ) @'The Loft' ( upstairs at Public Assembly ), 70 North 6th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211
You can't get to The Loft through Public Assembly. The entrance is an unmarked door to the right of Public assembly's main entrance.

Special guest DJ Pari will be joining DJ Honky and Mr. Robinson to spin soul and funk 45s for the dancefloor with us until 4am.
