SUFOCO é uma banda carioca de Pop Rock, fundada em 2006, que já fez shows em diversos lugares, como "Lona Cultural Hermeto Pascoal", "Parada Obrigatória", "Saloon 79", "Conceptione Pub", "Hospício do Chopp", "Sobrado Cultural da Lapa", "Recanto da Lapa", "Lona do Rock", foi Banda Convidada do “Festival de Bandas Independentes”, entre outros, no Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
Em Belo Horizonte (MG) tocou no "Minueto" e "Estúdio B". Em São Paulo (SP) abriu o “São Paulo Music Festival” e tocou no “Circuito Bubbaloo”.
Em São Gonçalo (RJ) tocou no "Recreativo Trindade", "Clube Mauá", “Bar do Blues” e "Clube Tamoio". Em Belford Roxo (RJ) no "Moto Clube Selvagens do Asfalto". Em Niterói (RJ) tocou no "Fonseca Atlético Clube". Em Ponta Grossa (PR) no Empório Avenida.
SUFOCO também foi a “Banda do Mês” da Anarco Music (RJ) e a “Banda da Semana” no Cena Rock (SP), tendo quase 500 downloads em seis dias, com a música “Marionetes”, que está entre as 10 mais da Rádio Anchieta (ES).
A extinta Rádio Haroldo de Andrade (RJ) foi a primeira a tocar SUFOCO, que agora é executada em Rádios FM e AM de todo o país, como a 105 FM de Cidade de Manoel Vitorino (BA), Rádio Alternativa FM 87,9 de Monte Alto (SP), Rádio Juventude FM 104,9 de Pojuca (BA), Iguaçu FM 87,9 de Reserva do Iguaçu (PR), Madame Satã (RJ), Rádio Top 10 FM 105,9 de Guaíba (RS), Rádio Bandeirantes 1360 AM (RJ), Rádio Onda Livre FM de Campo Largo (PR), Rádio Fluminense 540 AM (RJ), Rádio Líder 97,7 FM (RJ), Rádio Província FM 89,7 de Ouro Preto (MG), Rádio Alternativa FM 87,9 de Ibiporã (PR) e Rádio RCM FM 87,9 de Santa Maria Madalena (RJ).
Além das Web Rádios Usina do Rock de Bariri (SP), Rádio Cidade On Line, Rádio Elite de Aracajú (SE), Rádio Jovem Mix de Guarulhos (SP), Rádio Studio de Sorocaba (SP), Rádio Anchieta de Anchieta (ES), Rádio Mestre de Salvador (BA), Rádio Zap de Varginha (MG), Rádio Ache Fácil de Itapecerica da Serra (SP), Rádio JM de Guarulhos (SP), Rádio Love Mix de São Paulo (SP), Rádio Guaratuba de Guaratuba (PR), Rádio Mistureba do Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Rádio Lapa MP3 do Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Rádio Rox de São Paulo (SP).
SUFOCO também tocou duas vezes nos Programas da TVC - Canal 06 da NET/RIO, deu entrevista para o Programa “Revista Brasil” da TVE (Rede Nacional), e para o Programa “Jogo Aberto” - Canal 11 da NET/RIO.
A banda tem letras atuais, compostas pela vocalista Maria Martins, melodias marcantes e um som inconfundível, sempre conectados à realidade ao seu redor!

Since we can't expect the maestro himself to be so brash (he's actually a little shy once you really get to know him), we've decided to take it upon ourselves and do the dirty work for him...

Hello there my dear Sufoco! ... I'm just hoping at this point perhaps you still remember me?
It wasn't fun retiring away in seclusion for 3 months, but MUSIC HISTORY simply can NOT seem to figure out how to save itself, I'm afraid... :)
So to get caught up, my name is Doug, I like all music that is not NON-Music, long walks on the beach (ok ok now I'm really starting to lose it lol), pigs and hot sauces.... and as of this week, the ALBUM is READY. Delivered to my doorstep from Universal just the other day! I believe that brings the official timeline to 1,769,017 years in the making. Thank you so much for hanging in there with me.... I was in seclusion for an EXTRA long period of time because, my God, you're not gonna believe this but literally the DAY after I successfully completed the final edits and handed the album in for mixing, my body just collapsed .... as if it waited just long enough to let me scrape my way to the finish line, but then I had nothing left..... CRAZY. Kinda spooky, actually....THE ALBUM left me flat on my back with a fever of 103 for the better part of 3 weeks.... but finally, slowly but surely, I think that perhaps Mr. RAUSCH is coming back from the dead....
so now it's time to simply send this off to Amazon and i Tunes! Prepare to receive instructions very shortly on how to ceremonially surrender that forever-talked-about "9.99" within just a few weeks. Can I count on you to rise to the occasion?! It would be an honor :)
And of equal if not greater importance, how have YOU been?
