ABOUT THE BAND:churning with desire and sensuality, and blasting through power- laiden pop anthems suicide tuesdays perform songs for the hopeless romatic in all of us, while acknowledging the delicate nature of relationships.
formed in 2005, suicide tuesdays is a project by st. louis based musician anthony michael philip.
philip has been a member of such bands as VISION BLUE and COLORSPACE, and is co-founding member, co-songwriter, and drummer of THE CHARMERS. most recently he has also been playing around town in BLAIR AND THE FACT OF LIFE, covering high energy songs from the 1980's.
BIOGRAPHY:
i have been a musician my entire life, begining very early with piano lessons and playing second violin in elementary school orchestra. by the age of eleven i had settled on percussion, and have been playing ever since. throughout junior and senior high i performed in every ensemble that was offered, including marching band, jazz lab, pep band, and basically playing whenever and wherever i could.
after attending three semesters of classes at the local community college, where my studies emphisized musical performance and composition, i moved to st louis missouri.
i also own and operate a multimedia project studio called the velvet alley, which has allowed me the opportunity to work with friends such as tripelixer, dick whiskey and beaver soup.
in the mid-nineties i developed an interest in visual art and studied at s.l.c.c. meremac. this has led to work in painting, installation/multimedia, and video art, as well as my current "day job" working at one of st. louis' finest commercial art galleries.
