"Sun Sooley is born in Dakar, Senegal. He has been one of the Hip Hop pioneers with his ex band P. FROISS and has been an undisputed reggae reference in his country with band AKIBOULANE.
With band JANT BI ("The Sun" in Wolof), he joined Hip Hop History in Senegal with the album most sold of its generation.
Endowed with qualities of singer, rapper and sing-jay, he also has a gift for music and lyrics composition and arrangement.
In 2003, his album "Siratikal Mustaqim"("The Straight Path") comes out. His main track "Soukanayo" (Child, light up!" in Poulhar) is a revival from famous senegalese singer Baba Maal, with whom he formed an outstanding duet, followed through a video.
Then, he formed, with late Abdourahmane WONE, aka Bébé aka Countryman, the band AKIBOULANE (Al Kébulan, the first name of Africa revealed by Cheikh Anta DIOP).
Star of stage, Sun Sooley can hold his audience breathless with incredible interactive and live shows.
After some years in France he comes to Italy where he found his band, played lot of concerts and festivals and records his first International album "One day inna Babylon".
This new upcoming album of 12 tracks promises to be a "Revelation"........
Sun Sooley sings in English, French and Wolof(senegalese linguage). He loves his country and is a real panafrican that's why he never stops telling hard truth to the people in Motherland.But never loose occasion to blaze Babylon as a lyrical warrior.
His music is a mission as he ever told.
