Superferric is the name of the project behind wich we find the argentinian Fernando Amaya and the catalan Xavi Altés.
Only a few months after they met in Barcelona they already have elaborated a solid, forceful live act composed by deep minimal techno with some strong melodic touches and remarkable basslines with progressive cadence. Their live act has been presented in some of the most important clubs in the city and has been very well received by the audience, colleagues and critics.
In their first reference (Gin Toxic Ep - Inout Records 018) they have been remixed by Liquid Agents and Paul Synth, and among their next releases we must point out a remix for Liquid Agents on Inout Records and their first long Ep on Resopal Schallware after the summer.
ABOUT FERNANDO
Percussionist and vocalist, began his relationship with musical interpretation when he aquired his first set of drums. A few years later he got his first shows as a vocalist along with his first own compositions. Also influenced by the local electronic scene in Córdoba, Argentina, his hometown, by 2005 he decided to get into dj'ing.
A year later he moves to Cancún, México where he began to develop this new career. During his staying in México he was resident dj at Nectar Bar Afterhours Club, Thai Lounge and Maxime's Beach Club and was booked for shows in Playa del Carmen, Chetumal and Mérida among others cities. Always pushing new sounds, influenced by minimal, techno and house labels, with neat mixing techniques and emotional sets, during 2007 Fernando was booked by Red Bull México for their Riviera Maya Tour and became resident dj at Mix Sky Lounge Club.
In 2008 he decides to move again, this time to Barcelona, where he gets into production now with the live project Superferric alongside Xavi and he's booked by the club Kgb as resident dj.
ABOUT XAVI
He is one of the most promising talents in the city. Born in Barcelona, after a musical training that took place during his childhood and teenage years, he began listening to his brother's acid house and tecnopop cassettes. With only sixteen years of age he put himself in front of a pair of decks and a year later he was booked as resident dj for the radioshow 'Ser Nocturnos' in Cadena Ser radio station during two seasons.
In 2002 his first productions came into the market under his nickname Xavi Kolo and very soon he got into sound experimentation involved in projects like Audiotrashers (along with Bel Pujagut) or Usmev Und Siza (with Paco Addams and Tati Romero). Instigator and active collaborator in a great number of iniciatives that have left a mark in Catalunya's last few years underground scene.
With time he has been consolidated as a sutil forcefulness dj under his nickname Usmev, riding between house and techno and in great sync with the dancefloor. He has taken his sets to some of the most important clubs in the country, and has recently went beyond the Spain border serveral times combining with his new live project Superferric alongside Fernando.
