In late 2004 Scott Chapin, former front man for Northwest favorites The Daylights enlisted the aid of Basil Ternyik former skin pounder for Northwest rock legends Sweaty Nipples to form what Chapin refers to as a Full Contact rock band. After a few rehearsals they knew that this was something unique and powerful, so the search was on for a bass player and a second guitar to round out the lineup. Enter Mike Lee of San Francisco favorites Ones and Zeros and Ryan Schmidt of Portlands own The Film. With the lineup solidified and a new moniker, Supernaut, it was time to take the music to the people in the form of one of the most explosive and energetic live shows on the planet. On stage is where Supernaut truly shines.
The band instantly started turning heads in the competitive Northwest music scene. Days after their debut show in Oct of 2004 they were picked up by Portland indie label, In Music We Trust, home of Matt Sharp (ex-Weezer) and I Can Lick Any SOB in the House. From this union came the bands debut ep, Livid Vol. 1. Mixing the power of metal, the intensity of punk and pop hooks to spare, Supernaut pulls no punches. Although a definite product of their many influences they never sounds like an imitation. A slap across the face for a music climate bloated with sound a likes and cookie cutter angst. Supernaut is the genuine article. Speaking from a very personal space, Chapins lyrics reflect lifes lessons learned the hard way.
Local press have begun to take notice of this rising new band. Like a diamond crusted hammer smacking the hooks into your head, writes Marty Hughley of the Oregonian. Yikes, good yikes writes JAR of Willamette Week. Supernaut was also featured as BMBtvs cd of the month.
Regional radio has also taken notice and began playing their debut single Say Goodbye. It has been featured on Get Local on Portlands 94/7 and has also received repeated spins on the local favorite The Rick Emerson Show on MAX 910. The bands song Losin It has been featured on KGRG in Seattles Local Motion. Say Goodbye has also received airplay on KROG in Medford and KISS in Roseburg, OR where they were featured as a co headliner of the Rock star Energy Drink Rockfest.
In the New Year Supernaut have already begun taking the music on the road with constant regional tours throughout Oregon and Washington, including a high profile show with The Presidents of the United States of America. A full-length cd is also in the works for 2006 release. Followed by a tour of the West Coast to support.

Hiya, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Hope you got a ridiculous amount of presents all of which you wanted very much. Also I trust that you spent Christmas with those you like best in all the world, cause otherwise, why bother? I am running away to Canada in January to record some music, so maybe I should incorporate that into my new years resolution... something, something, I will be creative and productive, blah, blah, blah. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, hope the holidays are great fun for you. -Kate Elliott
