I "NENA" sono una band pop/rock nata a fine 2006 a Bergamo come naturale evoluzione delle precedenti esperienze musicali dei membri della band: Matteo Foresti (Chitarra) Michele Clivati (Chitarra), Federico Laini (Basso) Marcello Norrito (Batteria), e Serena Marinelli, vocalist dalla forte personalita' vocale e dalla carismatica presenza scenica.
Le contaminazioni esterne del gruppo sono molte, tanto da rendere il sound un ibrido indefinibile e mutevole che mischia il rock piu' immediato dei Franz Ferdinand a quello dei primi Bloc Party, le linee piu' sexy e ironiche di Gwen Stefani alla spensieratezza dei Wombats, con in più qualche residuo Disco, senza per questo perdere un proprio carattere, un proprio stile inconfondibile, un colore, ed una connotazione che per quanto proposto li rende sinceri, diretti e ironici.
Nel 2008 i "NENA" hanno vinto il talent show organizzato da Mtv e CocaCola, Operazione Soundwave, Heineken Jammin' Contest 2008, il contest nazionale del Festival Indipendente Ypsigrock ed "Emergenti","Sconcerti" e "Nuovi Suoni Live", contest nazionali per band emergenti.
Dal 2008 sono inoltre stati inseriti nel cast di importanti festival nazionali ed europei (Coca-Cola Live@MTV, Give It a Name, Heineken Jammin' Festival, Cube Festival, Ypsigrock) e sono stati scelti per aprire i concerti di importanti band nazionali ed estere come Cure, John Legend, Afterhours, Morgan, Silvertein, Story of the Year, Vanilla Sky, Bluvertigo, Il Genio, Fratelli Calafuria, Bedouin Soundclash, Art Brut, The Styles.
Nel Novembre 2008 i "NENA" hanno firmato un contratto discografico con Sugar, la prestigiosa etichetta discografica di Caterina Caselli.

"NENA" are a five piece rock and pop band formed in Bergamo (near Milan), Italy, in 2006 as a result of their members continuing musical evolution: Matteo Foresti (guitar, back vocals), Michele Clivati (guitar, back vocals), Federico Laini (bass, back vocals), Marcello Norrito (drums) and Serena Marinelli (vocals), vocalist characterized by a strong vocal personality and a charismatic presence on stage.
The wide variety of influences leads to an indefinable and unpredictable hybrid sound mixing the rock-immediacy played by Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party (first album) together with Gwen Stefani's sexy and ironic attitude and Wombats' lightheartedness. The sound of the band is completed by some residuals of disco-tempo whose do not divert the sound from its character: an unmistakable style, a colour and a connotation giving back a sincere, direct and ironic band.
In 2008, "NENA" won Operazione Soundwave (talent show organized by MTV and Coca-Cola), Heineken Jammin' Contest 2008, the national contest of the Indie Festival Ypsigrock whereas, in 2007, the band won "Emergenti", "Sconcerti" and "Nuovi Suoni Live" (other national contests for unsigned bands).
Moreover, since 2008, "NENA" joined some of the most relevant Italian and European Festivals: Coca-Cola Live@MTV, Give It a Name, Heineken Jammin' Festival, Cube Festival, Ypsigrock.
The band has been chosen as opening act for the concerts of some of the best pop-rock bands (both Italian and from abroad): Cure, John Legend, Afterhours, Morgan, Silverstein, Story of the Year, Vanilla Sky, Bluvertigo, Bedouin Soundclash, Art Brut and many more.
In November 2008, the band signed with Sugar (prestigious Italian Independent label).
