Swamp Boogie

Bio:

.. 66 years old blues legend of mid-Finland, vocalist & harmonica player Hessu Heinonen joins forces with Willie & the Wolves rhythm section Jaska Prepula (on guitar here) & Make Lajunen (on drums).

On 2001, when W&Wolves guitar player Mika Lähteenmäki moved to England for awhile, Jaska & Make needed some other action. After seeing Elmo Williams & Hezekiah Early live show they became convinced that guitar & drums -lineup could work. Soon they found out though that they were in need of vocalist and maybe harmonica player as well. Around the juke joints of mid Finland, there was only one howler capable for the job - Hessu Heinonen.

During the years Swamp Boogie has performed amongst others at Puistoblues, Järvenpää; Blues Live Festival, Jyväskylä; Savonsolmu Beach & Blues Party, Pieksämäki; Blues & Roots Festival, Lahti; + various clubs & happenings around Finland. One of the hottest venues has been 'Suomi-laiva Soi' -blues cruise, were they have repeatedly turned the boat into the dirtiest juke joint and driven the crowd to nearly ecstasy.
