"..First you learn your instrument, then you learn music, then you forget both of those and just blow... ..Dizzy Gillespie Every stockpot of great gumbo starts with the roux. In a simmering mix of harmonica/guitar driven- blues, swamp, and boogie, SwampSauce is that roux. They are just as at home playing in a backwoods Louisiana fais-dos-dos, a Mississippi delta juke joint, or an old school Chicago blues bar. Their infectious blend of music grips the crowd and doesn't let go, promising an evening not soon to be forgotten. SwampSauce was formed five years ago by three of the current members; Jeff Clark, David K, and Keith Hiebner and has quickly become one of Austin's most popular bands. They were voted one of the top ten blues bands in "The Austin Chronicle Austin Music Awards", in company with Los Lonely Boys, Eric Johnson, Gary Clark Jr., Grady, WC Clark and Marcia Ball. The band released their self-titled CD, "SwampSauce," which is already very popular with their growing number of fans. The songs on SwampSauce's self titled CD are the result of their influences, touched by Mose Allison, Muddy Waters, James Cotton, Albert Collins, James Brown, Al Green, and all the early Stax and Hi records. Recently, one of their originals, ..Turn Up The Heat.. was chosen for the film ..Circle Track Summer.. by production company Fools Gold Entertainment coming out by the end of 2005. JEFF CLARK

Jeff hails from New York. He's been playing professionally for thirty-five years, the past eleven in Austin, Texas. Clark was introduced to the blues as a boy by his neighbor, the great bluesman, Mose Allison. He worked for Hohner Harmonica Inc. in the early 1980s and studied under Sonny Terry at that time. He has opened for many big name acts, such as Albert Collins, Buddy Guy & Jr. Wells, James Cotton, Buster Poindexter, Rory Block, Terrance Simmeon, Dave Mason and the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Jeff has also shared the stage with Lenny Kravitz, Albert Collins, Rick Derringer and Paul Rogers from Bad Company.

DAVID K

Following his love for Texas guitar players, David K took his unique style of soulful blues, with velvet vocals and shredding guitar playing, to Austin. David started learning guitar and singing at seventeen from blues and soul records alike. In Austin, he started a band with former Cobras bass player, Alex Napier. David K has also backed some of the most influential blues artist of the last 3 decades including Otis Rush and his hero Albert Collins. He shared the stage with the likes of Denny Freeman, Charlie Sexton, and Omar and The Howlers.

KEITH HIEBNER

As a native of Austin, Keith Hiebner was influenced by some amazing musicians and particularly the unique sound of Blues, Blues-rock, and Texas Boogie. Keith has gone on to become an accomplished musician himself and has had 20 plus years of gigging experience that has taken him across the nation. Keith has gigged with Coco Montoya, Pine Top Perkins, Alan Haynes, Henry Cooper, (Washington slide guitar Award winner), and Hank Tomlin (Arizona blues Hall of Fame), and Bruce Bowland (Singer-Frontman from Austin's Legendary Krackerjack). Ty Grimes-(Captain Beefheart and Rick Nelson), Jimmie Randall-(Jo Jo Gunn) Keith has appeared on many recordings and has now found a home deep in the groove of Swampsauce.
