The Apprentice presents this work wordless, naive, and among a silent choir (a collected choir of people who are energetically and physically present but sonically null.) I am learning to be as an apprentice.

Working only with Viveka Eriksson voice on Forecast Proof, I saved a lot of energy by not singing. In two takes, she can nail down an abstract melody and almost nothing will sound out of place !
Because I went for a straight forward approach with Viveka, everything vocal on Forecast Proof sounds more cool, emotionally urgent and less stretched by the intellect.

Either follow the links above or search "Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire" on iTunes. The song has been played recently by Steve Lamacq on Radio 1 & Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music.
"Produced by ¡Forward, Russia!'s Tom Woodhead, debut single A Fire Born In Dallas (released on the Pay For The Piano imprint) finds post-hardcore and prog influences welded together to create a sound that is both vulnerable and self-assured. Admittedly, the usual influences of Fugazi and At The Drive-In are worn pretty obviously, but the band are far more than mere copyists.
Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire, it would seem, have more than enough firepower in their sonic arsenal to kick some of the music world's feted young pretenders into touch. " The Metro
