We have on guitar Jeff "Shredder" Johnson. Tasty Eddie VanVleet on the other guitar. Our lead vocalist is Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dave Wagner of Crow. On drums, Norm Steffen who is also a member of the band Crow. On saxophone, we have one of the best in the cities, Max Felsheim. young gun On trumpet, Aaron Wiener. On Hammond B-3 there is Paulie Testa. Sweet Paulie T has been jamming on the keys for forty three years now.. he does national shows with l.a.blues great corey stevens,occasionly with rock and roll hall of famer bo diddley,and sits in with good friends handy award winners mr.larry garner and michael burks.. as well as others..sweets has recorded with many fine acts in the twin cities and iowa.slide master dave lambert..our new bass players name is scott.. he has played with many many great city bands including his latest stint as a member of crow.. he is a well respected bassman.. this is a veteran group of fellows and great musicians who have paid their dues in the music business many times over.. if you want to hear a monster band this is it folks..
Influences
the great horn bands of the sixties and seventies.. jazz group the brecker bros.. paul butterfield blues band, tower of power, blood sweat and tears.. buddy miles express,lydia pense and cold blood.. and the great sly and the family stone.. and dont forget the great funk horn bands including graham central station.. my blues influences also go back to all the greats from bygone days.. but in the blues genre my happening thing is all the electric blues cats that are good friends of mine -- coco montoya,walter trout,michael burks, tinsley ellis, and many others..
Sounds Like
many fine horn bands but with a fire that alot of bands don,t have and great vocals and dynamics.. its one thing to have a great horn band but to have four really good vocalists in a band is something most folks dont have.. i can proudly say i do..
We feature a few members of the Minnesota Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band called Crow. We are a 8 piece Blues Horn Band. We play mostly second and third hits off of blues albums. Hard to know a lot of the material.
