Swing Cat Swing is a 6-piece swing band based in the St. Louis area. The band began in 1998, as swing was becoming a hot style of music again, with bands such as the Brian Setzer Orchestra and the Cherry Poppin' Daddies gaining national popularity.
Swing Cat Swing was quickly playing area "swing nights" 4 days a week, performing at such venues as Trainwreck Westport, The Firehouse, The Casa Loma Ballroom, Helen Fitzgerald's, Blueberry Hill, Fat Tuesdays, and the Side Door, to name a few. As the swing fad began to die down on the club circuit, the Cats found a regular home with a steady spot at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Clayton, MO...where they still perform regularly! Swing Cat Swing can also be found at other area nightspots such as Finale and Sqwires. Keep checking the calendar section for all upcoming dates.
In addition to nightclubs and hotels, Swing Cat Swing is the perfect band for any private function, wedding, corporate, community, or charity event, having played literally hundreds of these events since 1998. They have performed at the inauguration of Governor Holden, a party on the lawn of Governor Carnahan, Clayton's Parties in the Park, Creve Couer Days, The Lafayette Park Concert Series, The Heart Ball, Collinsville Italian Festival, City of Maplewood Concert Series, Brentwood Parks Concert Series, and countless others.
Swing Cat Swing has been both seen and heard many times in St. Louis area media outlets, having performed live on "Show Me St. Louis" on KSDK and "Fox 2 in the Morning" on KTVI - They were also featured in a television commercial campaign on FOX 2 in 1999, performing the "Here's 2 St. Louis" theme that can be heard on this website. Swing Cat Swing has been featured in articles in the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Riverfront Times, and the Ladue News. They have performed live on the Steve and DC Radio Show, and wrote and recorded a theme song for that show that was used in 2000-2001. Swing Cat Swing has also performed events for St. Louis radio stations "Red 104.1" and "K-HITS 96"
