Syesha Mercado was born January 2, 1987 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She spent her childhood in Bradenton and Sarasota, Florida where she discovered her love for singing in her church choir, like many of today's standout artists.
She attended the school for performing arts where she began to master her unique singing voice. Aiding in that mastery was her participation in a local band that had her constantly performing at many local community and charity events, quickly winning over the hearts of anyone who listened to her.
In 2006, Syesha became a contestant on ABC's The One: Making a Music Star, and when that was cancelled after four episodes she moved on and in 2007 her amazing voice won her the Florida Supersinger contest.
In 2007, Syesha auditioned for the hit FOX show, American Idol. Hoping to follow in the footsteps of Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, and Jordin Sparks and become the next American Idol. Falling short of that goal by one week, Syesha came in third place out of more than 100,000 hopefuls.

Hey Syesha! I'm sure you don't remember me but I gave you that little gangster/motorcyclist teddy bear at the aftershow meet and greet in hartford. Anyways, I just finally got to watch Ramiele's vlog that is up on youtube (I know she took it down, but others have it up lol) and I saw the part about you smiling and singing at the same time and remembered I have a pic from the concert of exactly that but unfortunately it won't let me send it to you :P Oh well. Hope your neck feels better.

Hey Syesha! It's been a few days since I left you a comment- I had my sister's wedding and then my brother got in a car accident yesterday (he's okay) so life has been kind of crazy!! i keep telling my friends all these stories about the week of concerts i had and i keep thinking it was last week! i cant believe it was already 2 weeks ago! times flying by, summer's almost over! ah. i miss it but im so excited for bridgeport & providence!! i wish we could just fast forward to then so i can skip the whole moving in/saying goodbye thing!! hehe. anywho, hope your doing great and enjoying the tour! :)

syeshaaa! we were both in north carolina for a few hours this morning! but now i'm in new jersey at my grandparents.. making my way up to college and eventually..
