SYN was born during the winter of 2K4. Originally created as a way to release all the anger and frustrations of the week with good friends, the once-a-week rehearsals quickly became more than that for Thibaut METIER and Julien GIBON, the only two remaining original members of the band. The perfect combination of Thibaut and Julien's musical influences made SYN an ambitious project, which is based on a fusion of powerful hardcore, old trash and death metal with enraged actual tempi. Two years later, the first CD titled "Our Failure Statement" arrived, and was followed by a myriad of concerts all around the north of France, where SYN originated from. Soon after, Aurélien SCHWALEK joined the band as lead singer,and SYN decided to take the band one step further and signed a management contract with Francois NOBLECOURT, from Hengeyokais Prod.
During the summer of 2K7, the band recorded their first full length album "Road to Ruin" engineered by Dimitri DUPIRE (from I-A Studios) and Rémy Délier (from Ahdden Team). In the months following the release of the album, it became available throughout France as well as Bénélux, distributed by Great Dane Records, Season Of Mist distribution, and Believe for the world wide web. By the end of 2K7, two new members, Frédéric WEDEUX and Camille GRENERON, joined the band as bass player and drummer respectively, and brought with them a more powerful sound and speed that will drive the band for years to come.
A new release of "Road to Ruin" album, signed with the American label "Apocrypha Records", will be soon available in stores in across the USA, Canada, Mexico and Japan. Two specially recorded bonus tracks will be included, for this special international release!
Despite sharing the stage with bands such as Morda, Zuul FX, Lofofora, Black Bomb A, The Arrs, Destinity, Dagoba, Walls of Jericho, Ultra Vomit, and Born from Pain, SYN is still looking for more concerts to appease its hunger of playing live shows...

SYN est venu au monde au cours de l'hiver 2004. Créé comme un défouloir entre potes, le projet devient vite un exutoire pour Thibaut Métier et Julien Gibon, guitaristes et membres fondateurs du groupe. L'alchimie de leurs influences musicales contribue à faire de SYN un projet intègre et ambitieux, fusion de hardcore, trash et death métal sur des tempos enragés.
En l'espace de deux ans l'entité crache une démo intitulée "Our Faillure Statement", enchaine quelques dates dans le nord et signe avec François Noblecourt d'Hengeyokais Prod. pour un contrat de management juste après l'arrivée d'Aurélien Schwalek au chant lead.
Durant l'été 2007, le groupe rentre au studio "Imagine Audio" avec Dimitri Dupire pour l'enregistrement de son premier album intitulé "Road to ruin". Rémy Délier (Ahdden Team) s’occupe ensuite du mixage et du mastering de l'album en février 2008. Ce dernier sort en avril 2008 et est distribué par Great Dane Records et Season of Mist en France ainsi qu'au Bénélux et par Believe en numérique sur le web. Frédéric Wedeux prend la basse en main en septembre 2007 et Camille Greneron prend place derrière les fûts en fin d'année 2008 et apporte puissance et rapidité au groupe.
Une ré-édition de l'album "Road to ruin" auprès du label américain "Apocrypha Records" permet au groupe d'être distribué aux USA, Canada, Mexique et prochainement au Japon. Deux titres bonus figurant sur cette ré-édition ont d'ailleurs été spécialement enregistrés à cette occasion.

Our new album "SCAR OBSCURA" is in stores now in the UK and Ireland. Out online to the rest of the world. Its been awhile coming but we are super pround of the album and the work that went to the writing and recording of "Scar Obscura" has paid off, big time!!!
We've had a pretty busy year so far with tour support to American giants Staind, signing to Rising Records (UK), a sucessfull tour wth Paul Di'Anno (Ex Iron Miaden) and festival appearances with Paradise Lost and Rotting Christ.
