In 1996 SYRACH recorded the debut Silent Seas, released the following year on Autonomy Production (Germany). The album combined the raw and heavy style of the early 90’s English Doom Metal with the more classic early My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost. .. In 1997 SYRACH embarked on a headlining tour of the U.K., going through line-up changes shortly thereafter, but still managing to record the demos The Twilight Enigma (‘98) and The Stigma Sessions (’00). .. With a new line-up, SYRACH took on the European stages in 2003 to follow up with many more live performances in their native Norway, including Hole in the Sky in 2004 and the Piggtraad Festival in 2005. .. In the summer of 2006, following their final line-up change, SYRACH entered Conclave Studio in Bergen to begin work on the long awaited album Days of Wrath. The album saw the light of day, or rather the dark of the night, on 9 March, 2007, released through guitarist 8- Ball’s own Ripper Management. With guest performances by Grutle Kjellson (Enslaved) and Silje Wergeland (Octavia Sperati) among others, and artwork by Aaron Stainthorpe (My Dying Bride), the album received worldwide attention, including that of Napalm Records. The Austrian label signed SYRACH shortly thereafter with the intent to make Days of Wrath available to the masses. .. The album offers heavy and viscid symphonies, which are not only massive and brutal, but also raw and coarse. The hypnotic drumming highlights the raw sounds and vocals, as well as the tuned-down guitars that produce one crushing riff after another, as if forged from the confines of inner conflict. Expect no lovely melodies or kitsch from SYRACH. Days of Wrath delivers a violent and hopeless approach to the musical experience. .. In the fall of 2007 SYRACH concentrated on writing new material and performing live in Norway and abroad, as always with a rock-n-roll attitude and their signature Doom Metal style. In late 2008, SYRACH toured Europe again and gained new fans on their crusade of Doom through 8 European countries. .. Despite their busy touring schedule, SYRACH worked on their new album A Dark Burial, recorded at Conclave Studio in Bergen. The result was a monolith of 6 tracks, heavier and faster than ever before. However, the band did not leave the modern Doom Metal genre altogether and still paid tribute to their roots. A .. Dark Burial features cover artwork by Martin Kvamme (Fantomas, Mike Patton, Turbonegro). Only one week after the recording sessions, Reichborn (guitars) decided to leave the band due to personal reasons. SYRACH continued to perform as a four piece, while on the lookout for an adequate replacement. In April 2009, SYRACH embarked on a short European tour. A session guitarist supported the band on these dates, which included a gig at the sold-out Doom Shall Rise Festival in Germany. This year also took them to Europe together with the mighty PENTAGRAM and the legends of TROUBLE. Also on the tour was THE DEVIL'S BLOOD on a few dates! .. The Norwegian quartet takes on yet another journey into the depths of human emotion with A Dark Burial, delivering a black-as-night diamond in the raw complete with all its jagged edges. The band revolving around frontman Ripper Olsen offers hypnotic doom symphonies overflowing with elegiac riffs and deep growls. The songs evoke a sweltering sentiment saturated with hopelessness and despair. Syrach's world offers no light at the end of the tunnel, and those who choose to enter into this forsaken darkness, will undoubtedly lose themselves in it. .. .. Syrach is now working on new material, and have started the planning of next album. We are proud to announce that Andrea "Berg" Costanzo and Øystein "Beistet" Knutsen are contributing well in the songwriting, and that they have the right SYRACHIAN feel to their writing! more info on this new stuff will come.... .. ..
