The U.K’s newest rising rock upstarts Takoma Star hit the ground running in
2007 with their debut E.P. “To This Day”. Produced by the ever respected Neak (whose
production and live credits include Hondo Maclean/ The Future/ Funeral For A Friend) “To This Day”
is already being heralded as a punk pop tour de force with every track a potential single. Combining
the melodies of Billy Joel with the power of The Ataris, Takoma Star breathe new life and energy

2006 saw Takoma Star hand picked to open up for legendary seventies punk icons
The Stranglers and The Blockheads quickly gaining momentum with a live acoustic session
on local radio and having an early demo of Atari Days chosen to open up a SlashMusic
for Channel4 podcast presented by Tom Ravenscroft son of the late great Radio 1 DJ John Peel.
Already breaking ground that most unsigned bands only dream of Takoma Star has seen
their european fan base double, been given sponsorship and endorsement deals with
two of the worlds most respected instrument manufacturers (ddrum and Dean guitars),
self released their debut to critical acclaim and recieved over a thousand radio plays
in the first month of release.
Takoma Star carried out their first tour in October and November and travelled
the UK with their explosive live show including a high energy performance
at Liverpool's Cavern Club the birth place of The Beatles.
2008 has came around and Takoma Star saw steady sales of their debut on
iTunes, Napster and other download sites, were voted unsigned band of the week on XFM
(a national radio station in the UK) by the stations listeners and have been supporting signed
acts in bigger venues in the UK as well as confirming slots at festivals in the UK and Czech Republic including New Yorks finest The Fun Lovin' Criminals.
Takoma Star have recently finished the follow up to their debut with their producer
Neak once again at the controls and mastering duties being taken by two time Grammy nominee
Andy Jackson (Pink Floyd / David Gilmour). Due out on June 29th, Takoma Star will be playing a handful of dates as a warm up this Summer and then this release will be promoted with a full European tour in the Autumn.

En 2006 Takoma Star fue seleccionado como telonero para dos bandas legendarias del punk de los 70s, The Stranglers y The Blockheads. La banda recibió un impulso aun mayor gracias a una sesión acustica para la radio y un demo del tema “Atari Days”, que fue elegido para abrir un podcast del programa Slash Music del Canal 4 de la TV británica, presentado por Tom Ravenscroft, hijo del fallecido John Peel, legendario DJ y programador de la BBC.
Rompiendo barreras que la mayoría de las bandas nuevas se soñarían, Takoma Star ya ha visto crecer exponencialmente el número de sus fans en Europa y ha sido endorsado por dos respetadas marcas de instrumentos musicales conocidas a nivel mundial: dDrum y Dean Guitars. Su primer material autoproducido recibió excelentes críticas y fue tocado más de mil veces en la radio en su primer mes de promoción.
Takoma Star realizó su primera gira de dos meses a través del Reino Unido en Octubre y Noviembre de 2007 con un show poderoso y explosivo que recibió gran aceptación de parte del público. Esta gira incluso llevó a Takoma Star a tocar en el Cavern Club de Liverpool, local en que nada menos que The Beatles dieron sus primeros pasos.
En 2008 Takoma Star sigue con sólidas ventas de su EP debut en iTunes, Napster y otros sitios similares en internet y es elegida banda de la semana por votación del publico en XFM (emisora de radio británica).
Takoma Star continúa en alza siendo telonero de numerosas bandas de renombre internacional como The Fun Lovin’ Criminals y My Device, tocando en locales cada vez más grandes e incluso realizando sus primeras presentaciones en el extranjero, específicamente en la República Checa.
La banda acaba de terminar su álbum debut, una vez más producido por Neak y masterizado por Andy Jackson, quien ha trabajado con Pink Floyd y David Gilmour y ha sido nominado dos veces para los premios Grammy. El disco será promocionado con una gira a través de toda Europa.
