Tangent Plane was founded in 1996. In the same year a 4-Track Ep was recorded, which got many positive critiques in Fanzines and Radio reviews worldwide. After that great resonance, many support gigs (Fates Warning,Mind Odysee etc.) and headliner concerts followed. Nevertheless the band broke up in 1999 due to musical disagreements and all members played in different projects. But the world didn't change and the media landscape was getting more worse than it was ever before. It was for that reason and fact that Keyboarder and founding member Ralph Swan Krieger wanted to go back from unsatisfying projects into his own musical world. So he finally brought Tangent Plane back to life. On this musical "plane", Krieger could handle his own view of things in his specific and incredible musically and lyrically way. The dying of individualism among todays society, themes like cruelty to children, rape, war and crimes and so on, which are mostly reported cursory and compatible for the masses, will be examined from a new, very hard and different angle. Tangent Plane invites criticism and demands own views of things for the listeners. With Jan on vocals and Bodo on bass, Ralph found the ideal band members to support him on the creative phase in any reason. They finally understood what Tangent Plane was. And they understood what Tangent Plane ever should have been and now has become. In 2003 the line-up was completed and a 10-Track demo was recorded. Many concerts were played and in 2007 Tangent Plane entered the studio to record the new album "Among Grey Masks" which is actually out now on a self distributing way. During the last two years lots of new material was born. Practicing the new material, two members left the band. Bodo was replaced by the old bassist Kostas and Tyronne with the abitious young drum player Dennis. On January they entered the studio once again to record their new LP "Project Elimi".
Hopefully this new record helps the band to recieve the attention they deserve.
So Prog on.....
