Mission Statement
A new social club night equally caring for tango voyeurs, milonga radicals and music vagabonds!
* This new and exciting social club night aims to bring, diffuse and expand the music and friendly dancefloor mentality of tango to a wider London crowd.
* Tango Inn will provide a home to open-minded tangueros (dedicated tango dancers), aficionados of the genre, electrotango enthusiasts and music lovers of all sorts!
* Tango Inn is not an austere tango class, it is not a night exclusive to tangueros, it is not even playing only tango music!
* Tango Inn runs on a Tuesday to reflect that faineant midweek feeling that ties so well with the milonga at the lush DIY Favela Chic, the epicentre of London’s craziest nights, the home of entertainment’s émigrés & iconoclasts to which Tango Inn is the latest addition!
Usual programme:
6pm - Tango Inn kicks off with selection of tango classics and other great music of the 50s and 60s Central and Latin America. Kitchen is open for delicious Brazilian bistro cuisine!
7pm - An hour’s easy-going beginners’ class with Eleonora Simoes (Tangology) for those that always meant to start but never got down to it!
8pm - Social dancing, chatting, winding-down and sharing a drink or two or three.
9pm - This is our live act or guest DJ slot, depending what we have programmed for that month.
11pm - Eventually, moving to dancefloor orientated latest neo-tango & homegrown tangoable productions (discover new ways to move to Groove Armada & Goldfrapp!) throwing in the occasional klezmer or cumbia ’tanda’ break!
