Baroness, Capricorns, the Sword, Karma to Burn,
And certainly our local Friends from Rising Magma,
and well,
anything that rocks your balls off with guitars in it really!
Sounds Like
An instrumental monster running at, over and beyond you.
Some reviews:
Metal Hammer (UK)
- April 2008
"'Behold' quickly moves into less crowded territory, all chunky, slightly abstracted riffs that recall Capricorns at their most brawny, Pelican at their least, but more likely sired in a love for their Dutch forebears, 90s cult act Kong. Tracks urge themselves on, gorging themselves on their own grooves and birthing fluid guitar breaks, all prepped for the final 'Dust', illuminated by light streaming in from the new horizons it opens up. T86 are bound for glory."
Aardschok (NL)
- March 2008
"Tank86 has tackled every possible problem from the start by not adding any vocals. The best possible decision, because 'Behold' now sounds as a power struggle of riffs, solos and climaxes. Tank86 breathes Motorpsycho, 35007, Lawn and 7zuma7 without effort. Can it get any better? No, Tank86 hits the sensitive, low-tuned string on all fronts, without ever reverting to wankery or pretentiousness."
Sleazegrinder
- March 2008
"Epic, sky-splitting instro super-grooves from this chasm-leaping bunch of hairy-scaries. Their songs are thick as tree-trunks and higher than kites. I haven’t heard no-vocal rock this transcendent since the heydaze of Karma to Burn, and that’s saying a lot. Pack your bags, because once you slap this monster on, you’re gonna go to some faraway places, brother."
Gitarist (NL)
- March 2008
"The new EP 'Behold' by the instumental stonerrock band Tank 86 from Breda is incredibly heavy. On top of an overwhelming wall of riffs, guitarists Floris Lambregts and Joost Kruiswijk play solos that alternate between bluesy and roaring. Experience this overwhelming tank on one of their self organised Rising Magma festivals"
Oor (NL)
- March 2008
"This dualbarreled stonerrockquartet understands that, without vocals, lyrics and the extra melody, they raise the bar much higher. The group's metalriffs go even further than those of Karma To Burn, the band that also tried it without a vocalist at the end of the last century. The volome knob has to be turned past three-quarters to the right to reach the desired effect. And still this studioproduct falls behind of Tank 86 on stage: such an incredibly tight liveband!"

It is 2008. This is the year that this Bastard child of Karma To Burn and The Sword is going to get you!
Whoever said that Instrumentals don't rock, or that bands need singers, clearly haven't seen this band crushing through it's live set. Overboard with Ego's, make-up and spandex, it's time to work up a sweat again!
TANK86 finally gave in to requests for a full length studio album.
The on 25th of January 2008 released 'Behold'
Filled with heavy riffs, psychedelic grooves and unpredictable dynamics. And an ambition to leave a Crater as a Landmark as one of Hellands most Innovative up and coming Instrumental band since years and years.
Worship the riff, indulge in InstruMentalness, Heavy Brothers and Sisters!

ABOUT THE RISING MAGMA HEAVY FESTIVAL
Info over Rising Magma Heavy Festival
TANK86, yours truly, the instrumental heavy band from Holland, has taken the initiative to organise the Rising Magma Heavy Festival. They figured, while organising the release party of their new CD in January 2008, why not invite some other bands to join them on stage during the release? The first edition of the Rising Magma Heavy Festival became a fact on January 25th 2008 in Breda, Holland.
Since all was arranged for this bad ass release party, again, they figured; why not have a whole bunch of these festivals all over Holland? So they did. In cooperation with their new found friends of
Shotgun Shiva, Viral, One Inch Men and De Staat,
Now Rising Magma has got a hell of a lot more serious with already six editions under the belt so far, and allready bigger plans are made for several more Rising Magma Heavy Festivals for the upcoming season starting September. More bands are joining, larger Venues are coming, the Magma is Rising!
Keep an evil eye out for us and let us know if you happen to have some connections that can hook us up with a venue. Check out the tour page on the Rising Magma site regularly to keep updated on new dates:
